Review - The Balm Shady Lady Eye Shadow

These va-va-voom shadows are designed to illuminate your eye color, and put you in the spotlight! Formulated with finely milled pigments and specially pressed, these shadows glide on smooth and stay on strong. Whether you're feeling the innocent ingénue or the femme fatale, there's a Shady Lady calling your name!

I have the "Shameless Shana Tahitian Bronze" color of this eye shadow. What a cute little compact this thing is. Seriously! it comes with a LOT of shadow also, a big round palate of it. It's well worth the bucks spent because it will last forever, just for the huge amount they give you. Also, it has a cute little mirror built into the magnetic flip top! and it's a really good mirror too and so useful.
Me, I have pale blue eyes, jet black hair and olive skin, so this dark brown/bronze color goes great with my eyes and skin. I would recommend it for anyone with darker hair that wants to play up their eyes. The Shadow goes on smooth without clumping or settling into creases, and has a soft shimmer that is delicate and not totally overstated.

Joyce says:

The shade I tried is Luscious Lani, which plays up my hazel eye color. It’s a sort of silvery-beige-peach and really brightens my eye area. In fact, I use it to cover (highlight) the shadowy area near my nose, as well as across my entire eyelid. I applied it with a brush and with my finger and prefer my finger. The texture is quite silky so it goes on easily and evenly. This particular color is great by itself or as a base for additional shades. But when you’re in the mood for a natural look, this one is perfect.

CitySlicker Says:

The color I received is called Sexy Stacy, it’s described as shimmery pewter.. It’s smooth & delicate shadow that doesn’t go on thick. I found it easy to work with. It’s got nice stay ability and lasted throughout my work day. For day I applied as a liner very close to the last line then feathered it out for evening & added a little more to increase the intensity. If you like the dark smoky eyes, this is a great choice. It’s deceivingly dark in the container; I was surprised that it wasn’t black upon application. It truly is a pewter & when feathered is quite light and airy looking. This is a lot of shadow for the money & I love the cardboard container that can be recycled when done!

Unfortunately, I really don't like my color of this super-wearable eyeshadow. The Kinky Katie, is just not good for my skin tone. It is basically beige, with just a little bit too much orange for it to look really nice on my skin. It wears incredibly, though, so it is upsetting that I don't love the color! It stays for hours and doesn't wear off or crack. I have been applying it very lightly just below the brow with my big blush brush, and that looks very nice. I totally agree with Cityslicker about how cool the cardboard container is. Love it!
