Review- CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion PM

Ordinary moisturizing lotions need to be applied frequently because the ingredients are released in a single “burst” and absorbed in a short period of time. Like all CeraVe® Skin Care products, CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion PM offers the benefits of unique, patented MVE® delivery technology, which provides a controlled release of essential ceramides and other skin-nourishing and protective ingredients slowly over time. It penetrates deep into the skin to moisturize and nourish skin throughout the day while “locking in” precious moisture. The unique ingredients in CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion PM help restore and maintain the natural protective function of the skin barrier, help restore damaged skin, and help keep skin healthy…all night long!

It probably won't surprise you that this lotion is ALSO one of my current favorites. It's everything I ever wanted in a nighttime moisturizer. It doesn't break me out, or make me feel greasy but it is strong enough to contend with my Tazorac (think strong Retin-A) and keep my skin from peeling off like dead leaves from a maple. The time-released factor really helps keep my skin hydrated through until the morning. It's a unique quality that really helps considering most moisturizers are done as soon as they rub against your pillowcase. My skin has not looked this good in a long time and again, this is happening with a $12 price tag. Be sure to read my review of Cerave AM Lotion because the two together make an awesome duo.

Trish says: Totally agree on what Hillary said above! I too so love this PM moisturizer that I use it affectionately and delicately, because it really does work and absorbs so gently into the skin, nourishing every bit of it while working its moisturizing magic. Usually, I skip nighttime moisturizers because my pores clog easily and for anyone who has combination skin knows how tricky it can be - super dry in areas that beg for the extra moisture, yet oily areas that can't bear it. With CeraVe's PM Lotion, my skin thoroughly drank up the moisturizing lotion without the heaviness of clogged pores the next morning. Used in combination with the facial cleanser, I noticed a quick turnaround with my skin - it was glowing and soft and so much more youthful looking, I can't praise this CeraVe Facial Moisturizer Lotion PM enough!

Review - Arbonne NutriMinC REcover Night Crème

Product #376 - Recover Night Creme advances night cream visibly strengthens, firms and encourages cell recovery while you sleep $79.00

I had the opportunity to test out the entire line of NutriMinC and it was great; there wasn't a product in the line I didn't like. In fact there are a couple that I liked so much I am thinking that I should add to my regular regimen. This night cream is very nice. I found it to be very hydrating and rich. I can go heavy at night. It's the only time for my face to relax and recoup so I am know to slather on the creams.. I use this after quickly after washing and a swipe of toner to help lock in the moisture. The results were really nice, in the morning my skin was soft, plump and fresh looking. The tiny fine lines around my eyes seem to have relaxed so the product does stand up to it's claim and does work. I do think that my skin has tightened up and does have a more youthful healthy appearance! The price $79 and in comparision to a lot of other brands this is very reasonable. I did get 6 or 7 samples and that did last me about 2 weeks if you apply lightly then I am sure the tub will get you 90 nights! Thanks Susan for the opportunity!

Hillary says: I, too, go heavier with my creams at night. I have very dry skin and if I don't use a thick night moisturizer not only do I wake up with tightness of my skin, I get flakes. This cream thoroughly hydrates and smells terrific (but not too strong). Like Cityslicker, I've been using the entire Arbonne NutriMin C RE9 (I don't know what the RE9 means) line and this product to me is a standout. It moisturizes fully without feeling like it's suffocating your skin. Now it's hard to nail down just which product is really doing the hard work, but I'm sure this night cream is responsible for my (recently) well hydrated skin as I haven't been using the day cream (my bad, but it only has an SPF of 8, a little over half my minimum sun factor requirement). My skin has looked really good since starting this Arbonne regimen- bright and well moisturized. And alough it doesn't come cheap, with how little one has to use, it still works out to be very economical as Cityslicker said. Basically, just put me down for saying "ditto" to everything Cityslicker said!

Sheba says I will be a little different. I do not go heavy at night. First, I am too frugal and second, I would end up with it all over my pillow, etc. I am not too concerned about the SPF with my night creams as usually the sun has already set when I am applying them. Between the Arbonne NutriMinC REcover Night Crème and the Arbonne NutriMinC REcover Day Crème my face is feeling and looking very nice and it is feeling terrific. I had started to get that dry itchy flaking from the weather and once I got gong on this regime -- that all disappeared. Both Hillary and Cityslicker thought the cost to be economical when you consider the product versus the results. Well, I think it is even more economical since I am so frugal with it and get to use it long after the heavy users are out of it!! Seriously, this line is truly an investment in your skin and face and worth trying.
Maria says: Here is another Arbonne product that I raved about on a different beauty site long before Susan was kind enough to send it to us reviewers here on Beautifile. I loved it then and love it now - it's one of my favorite night creams and a star in the NutriMin line - as evidenced by not only mine, but other people's enthusiasm for this product. Sometimes when you think of night cream - you might think of a thick, heavy product - not so with the REcover Night Creme. It's not heavy AT ALL - I'd call it rich and creamy - but never heavy or greasy - but yet you can feel it going to work moisturizing your skin and keeping it healthy while you sleep. When you wake up, your skin looks rested, healthy, and glowing - glowing is a word that comes to mind when describing what the entire RE line does to your skin. It's like it takes years off of your face b/c you just look so refreshed and healthy and vibrant. Also, a little goes a long way, so please, please don't be put off by what you think may be an expensive product. It's so worth it.

Review - Decleor Essential Balm

Banish greyness. This balm will brighten dull complexions, dissolve and eliminate impurities, and soothe and purify the skin. In short, a multi-functional balm to cure all minor problems. $69.00

I am always excited for a new night treatment – I feel that they are the ones that make a big difference in my complexion and moisture level. This is very different than any other product I have used in the evening. It’s as thick as Vaseline and has to be warmed up for application. The first thing I noticed is the fragrance; it’s not terribly strong but it’s there and I can smell it. It’s more herbal than perfumey. Instantly, my skin feels plump and moist without feeling greasy at all. In the morning my skin is still hydrated. This is amazing. It’s so dry in my home right now that sometimes when I wake and blink my eyes they sound like a parrot's beak clacking (just to let you get the gist) When I wake up I am hydrated, my skin is still plump and I can still feel the balm on my skin, it’s that good. I am using the smallest amount so this will last so now the price isn’t so scary... I have to tell you this also, my complexion looks better my skin is holding all of my makeup longer – I can’t rave enough about this balm. Question? Does Decleor make is in a vat so I can dip my oh so dry legs and arms in? Cause if they did I would... Check this out!

Hillary says: I'm very partial to Decleor products because I've never been disappointed by anything of theirs I've tried. This balm continues Decleor's winning streak. For those of you who have never used a balm before, I find it to be a real treat for the skin. Have you ever gotten the feeling that half of your face cream ends up on your pillowcase? I don't get that feeling with this balm (nor the other Decleor balm I've tried). You warm this balm a bit in your hands and apply to skin. It feels like it melts into your skin yet leaves a layer on top of your skin. As Cityslicker said, you still can feel the balm on your skin when you wake up in the morning so you know it's been working all night. Yet with all this coverage, there's nothing "suffocating" about the Essential Balm. It is recommended for normal skin, but it works wonderfully on my dry skin as well. And the best part- no dry flakes in the morning. As an added bonus, it smells- I know this sounds strange- soothing. It actually has a relaxing scent. I recommend this balm for anyone with normal to dry skin. Oh and it comes with a stick to scoop out the product, so you'll be able to use every drop without digging around with your nails.

Amanda S. Says: I can't really find much to add about this product except to reiterate that my skin is a complete train wreck when it gets dry. One application of this, and I went an entire frigid New York City day, in and out of blazing hot offices and freezing cold streets, and did not have a flake on my face. Which is, essentially, a total miracle.

Review - Avon REJUVENATE Night Revitalizing Cream

Lightweight gel-cream works while you sleep, so you awaken to skin that looks fresher and more vibrant $32

I saw the commercials and it peeked my interest. I have a love/hate relationship with Avon. Some products are great, others just terrible for me. I am always on the hunt for affordable results driven products so I jumped and bought this! FYI, I snagged it off of Ebay for a total of $9.43 shipped! So I really can’t complain: it was new in the box still covered with the cellophane! Well, the first thing I noticed is the powerful perfumy scent that it has. I can smell it even for a minute or two after I apply. If it gets close to my eye it instantly waters and takes a couple of minutes to stop. So having slammed it so far, I have just finished up the jar and really think that it does a great job on my face. I wake in the am to still hydrated skin, it doesn’t dissipate over the night. My skin is clear, it feels a little firmer and my fine lines seem look less obvious. So if you don’t mind the scent it’s well worth a go. My jar lasted me just shy of a month, I do slather it on too so I am sure others could make it last longer too. All in all it’s nice but be prepared for a perfumed puss!

Review - Avon Anew RETROACTIVE+ Youth Extending Cream Night Cream

Inspired by award-winning research, this proactive Youth Extending Cream is formulated to: Fight micro-damage better than before- invisible damage of the cellular level that can lead to visible signs of aging. Helps shrink the lines and pores before they can become larger.Boost skin's most powerful defense system - each cream is formulated to help protect skin against future micro-damage and help make it more resistant to future signs of aging. price: $27.00 on sale - $16.00

The Anew Line of Avon products has been a real discovery for me. This particular cream goes on very smoothly and is absorbed rather quickly. It works best if you also use the Day cream in conjuntion with this. The results are worth the investment and the cost can be minimal. Avon constantly has sales so just wait until it goes on sale or try EBay. I noticed small differences within a few days to a week after begining use. It sounds like a commercial but it does minimize the appearance of fine lines. It does not make the lines disappear or any such miracle but it does somehow reduce their appearance and that is GOOD! I noticed that my jawline seemed to have a bit firmer appearance. I don't expect to appear like I am back in my twenties but I am quite happy with the slight changes I saw right away and intend to keep those changes in place. I think continued use might attain that for me. Continued use will not be the same as Botox or surgery. So I will be more than happy if it just continues to leave the improvements I see now. Once again, their sale price is very reasonable for what you find in this jar. Check out Ebay on the chance you might find it for a better price. I do think you will be pleased with the results as long as you are not looking for miracles.

Review- Christian Dior Model Lift Nuit Enriched Firming Night Creme

Description: 3-in-1 firming night cream: deep-down relaxation; firmer skin; visibly tightened contours. It acts night after night while you sleep, so you awaken to a well-rested, younger look. And you'll enjoy the rich, comfortable texture, the sense-soothing aroma.
Approximately $65.00

This was a pretty generous sample which did a good moisturizing job but I really did not see any "Lift and Firm". I have better results with Olay and Avon Anew. I am not saying this does not work for everyone. It simply did not do as good a job as the other less costly products that I use. To be quite honestbecause this is Dior I thought it would have very noticeable results. Did I really think I would awake to a face that appeared a little younger after several weeks use? I guess I did. (I believe in Santa Claus too.) It didn't and I am disappointed -- but not as upset as I would be if I had paid $65 to discover this. The sense-soothing aroma they mention is simply a very mild fragrance that does not overpower you which I do like. It is not greasy and it is absorbed very easily. You may find that it works for you and if you have paid the price for it I do hope it does. I just feel it is too much money to get the moisture that I can get from almost any good cream.
