Review - Whiter Image TOGO Pen

Triple-Action Accelerator Gel for your quickest, whitest smile. $39.95
.
I do like to use teeth whitener. I am not a person who has teeth so white they look transparent though. I like my smile to look bright and not dull. I swear whitening is one thing that is affordable that can really brighten up the face and shaves off a couple of years. Having said all that I was super excited to get a hold of this pen and get to coloring my teeth. I think its fabulous concept but don’t think the product has been executed to its full potential. This reminds me of the Stila Lip Glazes; they look incredible then you twist the cap and it never stops oozing. The Togo pen is very similar, I wanted this to pop in my handbag and pull out after eating something rich in color to prevent staining or just if I was going somewhere and I wanted a little brightening boost. The case of the Whiter Image Togo pen was, I clicked at home and applied, ever easy, clicked till the clear gel oozed through, then I applied to my teeth. Well, it wasn’t a light application and I did as instructed - kept my lips off my teeth for 30 seconds and then my lips burned. I applied it too thick so it was my fault. This did dry down and feel like a light film on the teeth, nothing bothersome. I took it in my bag and left for work, when I pulled it out to show everyone, the cap was full of product and the bristles drenched. It had been like that every sinceI used it. Now I keep it standing up and after every use I wipe it and in a few minutes, look at it and the bristles are oozing product. Anyway, the question is, does this work on my teeth, yes! This is meant to work along with a whitening program so don’t run out and expect your teeth to look bright and white after one use, it really an aid to assist with a program in my opinion. However, I really can’t recommend this since I have had a disaster with the container, I think it needs to go back and be repackaged, great concept but disappointing!

Hillary says: I didn't experience any of the problems that Cityslicker did with my pen as I keep it at home standing up. I'm glad now that I did. It's true that it does ooze more than it's clicked, but I found that manageable by wiping the pen down after each use. This pen does whiten- noticeably so- especially with repeated use. The instructions say to use it 1-4 times daily and all you have to do to use it the 2nd time on is to wipe your teeth clean with a tissue (no need to brush 4 times when using it 4 times). If you want whiter teeth with little to no fuss, this is your tool. I'm always in a hurry in the morning and with this pen I can whiten my teeth in about 5 minutes and see actual results. I would recommend it for at home use (which sort of negates the name, but whatever works).

Deedlejuse says: Unfortunatly, I am going to have to agree with Cityslicker on this one. While I found the results to be really good (and I am a coffee/tea drinker so there was plenty of room for results!) the pen was sort of a pain. I love the packaging. It comes in this really cool container and the pen is so easy to stick in your make-up bag and really cute but unfortunately I also noticed some significant oozing. It can really make a mess, but luckily it won't escape out of the cap, so even though its a bit sloppy I can still carry it around. All in all though I think that this is one of the easier to use to-go teeth whitening solutions, the brush is much easier to use than tubes without appropriate applicators and it looks more like a tube of mascara than something for your teeth. The price is seriously affordable, as long as you don't lose too much! While I would love it if they could fix the oozing the results are definitely worth the struggle.

Amanda S. Says: Like Hillary, luckily I kept this pen upright. I have to say, I have used those white strips before, and they totally burn my gums. I don't care what anyone says, I could hardly brush my teeth after a few days with them. The pen went on pretty smooth for me and didn't burn. On top of that, I could tell where it was applied because it got a little foamy/bubbly. Although I couldn't tell day to day if my teeth were getting much whiter, a friend commented after about a week that my teeth looked pretty awesome, and after another week I definitely noticed the difference. If you're thinking of using those stick on strips, I would say DO NOT! And try this instead.

Review - Supersmile Quickie

Supersmile Quikee, in a handy pocket-sized tube, has been clinically developed to promote real oral care on-the-go, anytime, anywhere—whenever it simply isn't convenient to brush or rinse. Just a drop of Quikee (with proprietary Calprox) smoothed over your teeth provides the perfect stain-removing, breath-freshening experience that you've come to expect from Supersmile. Perfect after meals, on a date, while traveling or at work or school.

Created by aesthetic dentistry icon Dr. Irwin Smigel, the Supersmile system not only whitens natural teeth, but enhances professionally bleached teeth without sensitivity or the danger of over-bleaching. It's the only whitening system that restores bonded teeth and veneers to their original color.

I have been using the Supersmile Quickie, without any of their other products, for several weeks now. It is a very convenient little size, and you would be stunned by how long .35oz lasts! All in all I liked the way it tasted, it did leave my breath feeling fresh and clean, and it didn't cause any sensitivity (which is normal for me and teeth whitening products). I think that the effects would have been more pronounced had I used it in conjunction with the Professional Whitening System, but I did notice a slight difference with this alone. Honestly, if you are going to spend the money on the Quickie, you have invested enough to get the Professional Whitening System too. I think if you used them together you would be much happier with the results, this is based on other people's reviews of the Professional Whitening System which you can read here .
The flavor is nice, the affects were a little bit less than what I was hoping for, but I really think using both together would have improved the results. All in all, I think I'm going to order the whole package, and save the rest of the Quickie for when I get it. White teeth are so important, and I definitely think that Supersmile will help you get them!

Sheba says:

Just 'ditto' Deedlejuse's review: it is dead on. I enjoy using this little Supersmile Quickie. It leaves you with very fresh breath and your mouth feels refreshed. I barely noticed a difference in the whiteness of my teeth and it is easy for me to see it -- I chipped one of my front teeth and have a filling to replace the chip. The filling matches the color of the tooth and teeth around it. The difference between that filling (which cannot whiten) and the teeth is very slight. However, I really agree with Deedlejuse's assessment that it probably works overtime when used in conjunction with their Professional Whitening System. This Supersmile Quickie is sold as a stand alone product and does a wonderful job considering the way it freshens breath and makes your mouth feel great. However, to get the most optimum whitening it really should be used with the Professional Whitening System. Also, as she mentioned -- the little tube lasts forever. I have been using it for weeks and it still has most of the contents in tact. It takes only a drop for the super results.

CityClicker Says:

I love any whiting product that works and leaves me with no pain or sensitivity. This is one of those little gems that all girls should have in their bag, it’s easy to use discreet and provides you with a light burst of freshness and helps with staining. I use after a cranberry juice to stomp the stain or just when I need a boost other than gum. I have found that using along with the supersmile toothpaste with accelerator this is keeping my teeth free from staining and bright. I would love to try the professional whiting system and see what the results bring me but as an inexpensive accessory this is really nice!

Review- Supersmile Professional Whitening System

Just brush & whiten. The #1 patented whitening toothpaste recommended by top cosmetic dentists, contains:

  • Calprox®: safely whitens teeth
  • Baking Soda: freshens breath and maintains healthy gums
  • Fluoride: fights cavities

Whitening Accelerator, when combined with Supersmile toothpaste:

  • Bleaches: natural teeth
  • Restores: bonding, veneers, caps and even dentures to their original whiteness
  • Enhances: bleached teeth

$29.99 @ Drugstore.com

This is a system you use just like regular toothpaste to whiten your teeth a little each day. Using a dry toothbrush, you add equal parts of the toothpaste component and the accelerator. The two together taste a little like peroxide and mint. I did see a difference each time I brushed my teeth, a very subtle one. Over time I'm sure this would have lightened my teeth noticeably based on what I saw over the course of a week. I only had two little tester tubes and they lasted 7 days. It doesn't take a lot of it to get the job done. Be sure not to brush like a maniac (like I did) or it will bother your gums if you are prone to that. Overall I would definitely use this as a maintenance measure after using a whitening kit like Dr. Michelle Copeland's (see review here).

Amanda S. Says: Just my two cents after using this product (I used it for a week in conjunction with the Quickee Whitener), I agree with Hillary, we have both tried Dr. Michelle Copeland's whitening kit and it worked absolute wonders. However when I tried Supersmile for a week I definitely did notice a lightening of the tea stains on my teach (I drink a TON of tea, lemme tell ya). And I showed this product to my dentist during my recent visit and she said it was safe to use and to her knowledge of the ingredients, perfectly safe for teeth and gums. Unlike those strips that have always burned my gums and made it impossible to drink hot or cold drinks after using for a few days, there are none of the side effects with this product.

CitySlicker Says:
I have been using this for 5 days. I got a sample pack and it lasted for 10 uses... I think this is a great product to introduce you to the powers of whitening without any discomfort or time consumption. It’s quick, easy and the effects are noticeable. It only takes 2 minutes twice a day. After only 5 days I can see a difference, not dramatic but enough for me to actually notice a difference. There isn’t much taste at all. I have sensitive teeth and have noticed no additional sensitivity so it’s been a joy for me to use, unlike some whitening strips that make my teeth feel like they are going to fall out. I use the super smile then use my regular toothpaste and am done with it... I can’t wait to buy this... I am sure after a longer period of time the results will get better too... Two Enthusiastic Incisors up!!

Joyce says

Review- I have to agree with my fellow bloggers who felt the samples were too small to provide an opportunity to see if the product really does what it promises. Most OTC versions tell you it takes about three weeks before you really see the difference. Our samples lasted about one week. I recall one day giving myself a toothy smile in the mirror and thinking, Maybe my teeth are brighter. I agree with others that I had no sensitivity when I used it. Nor did I get a sample of the Quickee version to try, as well. I wish I could give you something more definite, but unless the company lets me try a larger sampling, all I can honestly say is I don’t know.

Review - Go Smile B1 Tooth Whitener

What it is- A patented teeth whitening ampoule technology designed as an alternative to in-office whitening. Clinically tested, highly effective, easy-to-use.
What it does- Whitens natural teeth optimally and safely lifts stains from porcelain crowns and veneers.

CitySlicker Says:

I want to start by telling you I have super sensitive teeth. I use sensodyne toothpaste all the time. I have tried a lot of the strip whitening methods and found that I can use a single strip only every couple of days. When I followed the actual recommended usage, my teeth felt like they were going to fall out. I have been a sincere customer of Go Smile for a long time. I love the results and don't suffer using these ampules. I find that usage is super easy - I use 2 ampules a day and it takes a couple of minutes for each use. I do the recommended twice a year. I find by day three, I can notice a difference. I get no sensitivity from the Go Smile either. There are actually fun to use and the results last. I am in the end of a box right now and my teeth are looking great. When I apply the ampule to the teeth and squeze, I start rubbing in a circular motion over my teeth and it turns into a light foaming action then settles. The taste isn't terrible but it's a little strange. It dissipates quickly and there is no residue left behind. I apply after brushing in the AM & PM. The only downfall is the price. It's $89, but when compared to other dental whitening methods this actully inexpensive. I will continue to use!

Review - Dr. Michelle Copeland Dental Whitener

  • Formulated specifically to minimize tooth sensitivity
  • Brightens teeth at least three shades within seven days
  • Formula: 6% hydrogen peroxide gel
  • Whiter teeth for a beautiful, healthy, younger-looking smile
  • Disposable one-time use pre-measured trays
  • Guaranteed whiter smile in just one week!
  • One size fits all
I have extremely sensitive teeth. Also being an ex-smoker and a coffee and tea drinker, I get some heavy staining on my teeth. I started using Dr. Michelle Copeland's dental whitener kit praying that it wouldn't sting and burn my teeth and gums like those other strips you can buy (no names mentioned!) which really ripped my gums apart and made me feel like I had just gotten ten new fillings and was afraid to even chew after a few days of using them. This stuff is different. First off, it comes in these awesome foamy little pre-filled things that are so comfortable to use, no weird drooling or feeling like you want to spit them out, I wore them for the full time (15-30 minutes) and felt fine doing it each day. They fit really well, didn't slide around, taking them out was easy and you can just rinse afterward and go on with your regular life. This stuff is just great, my teeth are definitely whiter, much whiter. I had several people checking my progress over the week of use and there is a seriously noticeable difference. It's even whiter than I expected it could be without getting some sort of professional whitening that costs $300 and burns like crazy. I would recommend this HIGHLY to anyone having problems with teeth discoloration because it's a lifesaver, and to date no stains have returned. I will use this again if any issues arise with discoloration, it's definitely worth the money savings (this is only $99 for a ten day pack versus the $300-400 a dentist will charge for the same exact thing). try it!

Hillary says:

This stuff is amazing! I can't believe how white my teeth have come with this kit! I started seeing results from the first time I used it. I venture to say it gets your teeth 2 shades lighter with each application (I leave it on for as long as you're allowed to). This has gotten my teeth much whiter than a professional cleaning at the dentist does and there's not poking or prodding. I'm not implying this is a substitute for a real cleaning, but aesthetically this kit does wonders and at such an affordable price.
