Review- R.E.M. Spring Facial Hair Remover

"R.E.M. SPRING is a fast and easy way to remove those little hairs on cheeks, chin, neck and upper lip. Roll the REM Spring™ bar over unwanted hairs—it removes hair from the root, and won’t leave skin with rashes, redness or sores like waxing can. Use wet or dry. Easy to take along in a purse or travel kit. $19.95" Solutions catalog (1-800-342-9988)

It's a little hard to see in this photo, but the R.E.M. Spring is a spring about 4 inches long with an arrow shaped holder at each end. When I first saw it I thought "This is so simple and clever!". Who hasn't gotten their hair (or skin) caught in a spring at some point in their lives? The spring is very tightly wound and not once in the three times I used it on my "lady moustache" did it ever catch skin. It takes a few minutes of practice to perfect your technique, but once you've got the hang of it, this tool leaves you totally bare. My 'stache grows in darker on the ends with thinner shorter white hairs in the middle. I could never get at those hairs with the epilator I had been using, but the R.E.M. Spring got them no problem. Now the question you've been dying to have answered- does it hurt? I wouldn't say it hurts, it does have a slight sting to it like waxing or threading, but since you can do a little at a time in the privacy of your own home, it's a much gentler process. Another plus is that I experienced almost no redness as the spring only grazes the skin and doesn't "clamp on" like wax does. I would especially recommend this tool for ladies who travel. With this, you'd never have to worry about being hairy in a different city again. And it is so small you could fit it anywhere in your luggage. And think of the long term money you'd save over waxing or threading!

Did it cause any hair bumps on your face?

No. If you don't get bumps from threading, you won't get bumps from this. If razor burn bumps are what you mean, then no. This device pulls each hair out by the root, so there's no effect on the skin other than some temporary redness (nothing to worry about, it's gone in under an hour). HTH.

Is this only for facial hair, or could I also use it on my legs?

Hi, The product site recommends this for facial hair only. I imagine it would be quite tedious using on your legs.

does ur hair grow back thinner or thicker...and can u use it on reali short hairs??

Eventually, your hair would grow back thinner, but that is true of all epilation. I used it on reasonably short hair with good results.

I was wondering if you tried the product on your cheeks/side burn area. I was also wondering if it would work on longer hairs.

I don't think the spring is recommended for longer hair like sideburns.

I have been having facial hair since 10 years. After college i did lazer treatment, the thickness is reduced but still u can notice it once it starts to grow back. Since i cant afford laser treatment at the moment, i went back to shaving. I have been shaving for a year. My concern using this product is

1. Does it work on checks, upper lip, chin and neck area?
2. I shave everyday but once u start this product how often do u need to wait to reuse it?
3. Does it work on course hair (meaning will it be able to pull out if the hair is think and small)?

Since I only used it on my moustache area which is not that thick, I think you should probably ask the people at the Solutions catalog about your questions. Or at least ask if you can return it if you aren't satisfied. Thanks for your comment.

Does the hair grow back the same color? How fast does it grow back? Does this really work? Where do you get them at and how much do they cost?

Hello,
The hair will eventually grow back lighter if you are anything like me (but we're talking many months, maybe years). Everyone's re-growth rate is different, but with this tool you are pulling the hair out by the root, so it will last longer than shaving. It will last as long as waxing or threading. You can get it for $19.95 from Solutions catalog (1-800-342-9988). Thanks for writing!

Thanks for your clear cut views on removal of unwanted facial hairs through REM Spring. I think this spring may be an ideal device for facial Hair removal for women which is easy and convenient to carry. Is the entire process of removing hairs is painless?

I was wondering if you can use this on stubble, or if you have to let it grow out to a longer length?

Where can you get it in the U.K?
