Review- Curlisto Straight Time Glaze

A heat-activated, straightening balm designed to temporarily relax curls and provide thermal protection. Tames curls and fights frizz all day- even in humid weather. Vitamins A and E are added to soothe and condition the hair shaft. Can be mixed with Repair Styling Cream for ultimate protection against heat damage.

I love this Straight Time Glaze! I am someone who can surely appreciate any product or process that tames my wild and frizzy hair (it happens even for us straight-haired ones). To me, it's kind of like using a flat iron to make my hair even smoother and silkier - but without using the flat iron. Using this glaze even by itself produced straight, glossy hair that maintained its silkiness and shine all day even in misty rainy humid weather. And it's so wonderfully lightweight that it didn't feel as if I was wearing anything at all! Out of all of the Curlisto products, this is definitely my all-time favorite. It works overtime as a heat protectant, silkener, straightener, and frizz controller! This is one product that straight-haired types can totally benefit from the selections of their curly-haired friends! And if it works this well for my straight hair, I can only imagine the gorgeous effects it'll have for my curly compatriots!

Deedlejuse Says:
I have to completely agree with Trish. Recently I had to start interviewing for jobs. My hair needed a little pick-me-up so that it didn't look super frizzy and fly-away in the humidity of the summer. I looked no further than the Straight Time Glaze by Curlisto! I was completely amazed the first time I tried this that I really didn't need any more products, like at all. My hair, which is straight naturally, literally fell into line with a quick blow dry and a brush through! I took about 15 mins on my hair, and it looked like I had spent at least 1/2-3/4 of an hour. I definitely didn't need to use a hot iron, but also I didn't need any of my other products to make my hair look smooth, shiny, and gorgeously straight! Seroiusly, everything from Curlisto has been lovely to try and will probably be in my make-up bag for quite a while!

Review- Privé Thermal Protection Detangling Spray

Enriched with cactus, bamboo and kelp, Herbal Blend #30 deeply penetrates the cuticle to deliver excellent conditioning and detangling, while protecting against hot tool damage. This unique, lightweight spray imparts exceptional sheen to the hair, which brightens haircolor and makes hair easier to style.

Let me start out by saying I love me some thermal protection. It's one of my "can't live without" products. Now I may sound like a broken record or a total defective, but as happens with many things I use, the first time I used this I overdid it. Thus, next day- oily looking hair. If you read yesterday's review of Arrojo Hair Crème, you will see a pattern. So at this point I feel the mention that a little of this spray goes a long way. Unlike many other detanglers I've used, you don't have to drench your hair in this spray in order to get a comb through it. Simply spay enough to put a fine mist on your hair and you'll be able to put a wide tooth comb through your hair no problem. Now when I use it it simply adds sheen to my hair and surely spares me many a split end because I don't have to tug on my hair to brush it. Thermal protectant is sort of like my imaginary childhood friend, Stanley. They are both invisible but serve a big purpose. (My mother used to give me a cookie for myself AND Stanley). My haircolor lasts longer and my hair is definitely less dry since I started using thermal protectant and I have to say, this one is in my book of favorites because it does the double duty of detangling to boot.

Sultana says: I agree with Hillary 100%! I've spent tons of money on various detanglers that have never worked on my hair. They usually are so heavy that they weigh my hair down or they feel too watery. The first day I used this spray I was in love. Not only does it take out all those pesky knots, but it protects your hair from heat! I curl my hair 5-6 times per week and I need the extra protection. I put this on after I wash my hair at night. In the morning when I wake up, my hair is shinier; softer and way more manageable. I would not normally pay $21 for a detangler but as Hillary stated, a little goes a long way. Therefore, this is definitely worth the money!

Review- Biosilk Thermal Shield

The advanced formula utilizes silk and other protecting ingredients to help shield hair from thermal damage from the hottest flat and curling irons, while giving long lasting styling results with ultimate shine.

I really beat the you-know-what out of my hair. Although I've tried to cut back on heat styling (I'm addicted to the flat iron in a serious way) I still cave in on humid days and fry my hair with everything I can to beat it into submission. I've tried a lot of these protective products, a few I've reviewed on here after trying a few times, but I decided to really test this one out on the long term. I used the Thermal Shield through over 15 hair torturing experiences to see what, if anything, I had to show for it that differed in any way from the usual products. I have to say, other than a nice smell and an ease in applying, the Biosilk Thermal Shield really did seem to make a difference. I'd noticed recently that especially in the winter months of blasting indoor heating, my hair would get a little dried out even when I didn't use any heat styling things. After using this product religiously for 15 washes (and tortures I guess you'd call them), even after dying my hair and THEN immediately ironing it, it really did make a difference. My hair was notably shinier and smoother. It wasn't a miracle, but let's face it, nothing is. But for the price (under $13) it was well worth it. It battled my usual Infusium leave in conditioner and it won hands down.

Review- Cutler Specialist Protectant Treatment Spray

"Special treatment spray that moisturizes while it adds a barrier of protection between heat and hair. This light-weight styling spray is designed to detangle, protect and treat hair."

This product had some big shoes to fill since I LOVED my old heat protectant, Frederic Fekkai Coiff Defense (see reviews here). I'm glad to report it filled them well. This protectant has a nice clean smell, not too flowery or anything, and I don't think it would clash with most shampoos. I decided to give it a run for it's money, so I both blow-dried and straight-ironed my hair. Thanks to this protectant, my hair still looked good after being put through the ringer. The real test came the next time I washed; it wasn't dry at all (which it should have been.) I know it seems like our shelves are getting complicated with more and more products lately, but I really recommend using this treatment before heat styling your hair. It has avocado oil, sweet almond oil and sunflower seed extract to moisturize your hair as well as several other fruit and plant extract. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this for people with oily hair as they don't need the moisture, but I'd say it's light enough for them to use for the heat protecting qualities.
