Review- Boske Dermaceuticals Alchemist C Normal to Dry Skin

Reveal a more radiant and youthful complexion by using this optimum-potency serum, which utilizes a synergistic blend of Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid), Ferulic Acid, and Vitamin E (Alpha Tocopherol). Alchemist C Antioxidant Serum

This is a very thin suspension for a skin serum, really it is more like a tincture that one might find in a health food store. I like to think that those things really improve everything, but.... I don't really have any of the issues that this serum is really made for. I have an issue with dryness, not with dark spots or old looking skin (I'm 25 and don't really tan so I still have pretty good skin) I did not think that this was particularly moisturizing, and so I really needed to use another cream or some type of moisturizer on top of it. I would say that people who don't really have the specific problems that this serum works on probably don't need to spend $97 on the ounce. On the flip side I did have a little spot on my hand I tested on (a scar from a shady accident at girl scouts a decade and a half ago) and it really took care of it. Like it has been there for fifteen years and now its gone after three weeks! So, the moral of the story, don't bother slathering it all over your face if the only issue you have is a little scar on your leg! it is not worth it! For those of you that really need some lightening, please get this serum, it works wonders.

Review- Cosmedicine MegaDose Skin Fortifying Serum

MegaDose is an antioxidant super serum that fights age-accelerating free radical damage. Look at MegaDose as the ultimate preventative treatment. MegaDose a no BS skin fortifying alternative. A highly advanced, multi-vitamin & nutrient enriched cocktail of 44 synergistically blended ingredients including antioxidants, vitamins, peptides and natural extracts. The ultimate preventative treatment. 1 fl oz

I have been using this serum for the past three weeks under different types of creams, and I have to say it has improved the look of my skin dramatically. I really, really like the feel of this serum. It makes your skin feel super satiny and soft from almost the first use. I really only needed to use two pumps and that completely covered my face and neck. Although you might have to shell out eighty big ones for this serum, it will last you a good long time (three weeks and you can hardly tell I've used it!) The only thing that might give you pause is the color. We'll just say I can't call it attractive. But the serum itself is really quite amazing. I feel completely nourished and healthy! I would totally repurchase this product forever!

I have to agree that the color is not very pretty! However, it really does make your skin appear smoother & younger looking. Ive been using this one time per night and I noticed that my skin is improving over time. The price tag is a bit hefty but if it works I say its a go!

Melissa says: I've been using MegaDose for a couple of weeks as well. I really like what it has done so far! My face feels great and the consistency of the serum is nice on the face. I would agree, that it feels like satin. I'm not bothered by the color or smell either as it kind of reminds me of some type of brown sugar concoction. The good thing is that a little goes a long way. I only have to use 1-2 pumps for my face and neck too. I can see this being in my beauty arsenal for a long time!

Mario Badescu- Vitamin C Serum

This Vitamin C Serum contains 7.5% Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) to reduce discoloration and brighten skin. Formulated with Hyaluronic Acid to retain skin's natural moisture and Collagen to enhance skin's firmness and elasticity. $45 for 1 oz.

In true Mario Badescu form when they say in their stylish bare bones fashion "vitamin c serum" you can expect a product that smells vaguely like the juice of your favorite citrus fruit. I detected a hint of lemon juice, myself. I love products that advise an "every-other-day" use, by the way. You can glean that there's some real power behind this serum. I added it to my current rather slapdash skin care regimen because I am "in-between" reviews of whole skincare lines therefore piecing together my favorites in my closet morning and night. Anyway, adding the vitamin c has done wonders for my visage thus far. It's a mild solution that doesn't seem to make a huge imprint at first but after two weeks, I have noticed a decline in the newer "freckles" (heh) I have culled this summer despite my best efforts. I also have a more even skintone in general and a brighter glow. I love Mario Badescu and have for years so I am hardly surprised that this stuff is so effective.

Review- Avon Clinical Derma-Full X3 Facial Filling Serum

First for Avon: Injectable-grade facial filler, now in a Serum. This super concentrated serum has 3X the level of injectable-grade hyaluronic acid for dramatic filling & plumping.*

I really did try and hold out before reviewing so I could give this new Avon product a fair assessment, but the time has come for me to give my impression so here goes. First of all, I have liked (and reordered) several items from the Anew Clinical line. Avon listens to their customers, they put science behind their products, introduce good-for-your-skin ingredients - all at a very reasonable price. This new serum may be more than what you are used to paying for an Avon product, but when you consider that it seems to be living up to its claims (for me anyway) then I'm okay with that. Hyaluronic acid is the key ingredient here - a known plumper - but not known to me at the injectible grade level...until now... I've often said here that I have a magic age number in mind (that being 50) before I consider Botox and it's companies like Avon who give me hope that I can hold out a bit longer, because by golly this product is making me quite happy....happy to see my "elevens" fading and less pronounced....happy that my forehead lines seem softened as well (and trust me, I have a forehead that is frightfully large) and most of all - happy that under my under eyes, where I seem to be showing my age more and more look better too. Rested. Brighter. Less sallow. Another bonus - no breakouts. Not a one. I use this at night and in the morning there's nothing awaiting me on my face that would make me panic! Happy? Yes, that's a great word to describe how the results of Avon's Derma-Full make me feel. Satisfied? Yup. Repurchase? You betcha. Botox? Nah, it can't wait. (Thank you Avon!) We'll see where I'm at at 55.

Review - Caudalie Purifying Concentrate

Created for combination skin, this paraben and phenoxyethanol-free concentrate quickly penetrates the skin with 100 percent plant-derived ingredients that act deep down to balance combination skin. $39.00
.
I have been using this in conjunction with their buffing cream. I am proud to share that this is another enthusiastic 2 thumbs up product! I can’t get enough of this! I swear when I read I need to apply 5 drops in the evening I thought “yeah right, more like 10-12”. No sir, 5 drops amazingly moisturizes and plumps my entire face. I do use a night cream too but have never woken up the next day to find such hydrated and still plump skin. It helps really hold in the moisture and does not dissipate like most night products do. My skin has been reacting very well. My tone is more even, my skin is brighter and it looks plump and healthy. I think if I had not tried this, I would have passed it over, based solely upon the tiny bottle. Now I know it will last and this is a small price to pay for the awesome results! Run, don’t walk to check this out! I will re-buy over and over!

Sheba says:

I also have had very positive results with Caudalie Purifying Concentrate. I knew immediately that 5 drops would do the job -- it felt very oily/greasy for all of maybe a minute. The next thing I knew my skin had just swallowed it up! I will say that I really did not notice a drastic improvement immediately. But then, I am not using it in conjunction with the buffing cream and that combination just might kick in sooner. It took a few nights -- but it certainly does improve your skin. As Cityslicker mentioned -- the skin tone, skin brightness, and healthy appearance of the skin are all byproducts that are very noticeable. I did not get the plumpness she got -- perhaps because I am more plump overall so I am glad it did not pump up the plumpness for me. I will also admit that I would never have spent the $39 on such a tiny bottle of a product -- but for these results I just might forgo my 'frugal' tendencies and go outand spend the $. WAIT!!! I cannot believe it -- it is on EBay!! One is Buy now at $29.99 w/$2.99 S+H -- and the other is an auction starting at .99 with $6 S+H. Now watch Cityslicker outbid me!! Seriously, I have enough for a while or I would not share that information. So now you know -- before spending the full price -- see if you can save a little on EBay. If you end up paying the full price -- you will feel you got your money's worth so you won't feel bad.

Review- Aveda Green Science Lifting Serum

Helps skin boost its natural collagen production for a more lifted appearance. Part of a 4-step system clinically proven to perform in 4 weeks. When used together with Firming Face Creme, Firming Eye Creme and Line Minimizer, clinical results show 41% more lifted appearance; 37% reduction in appearance of lines and wrinkles. 30ml/$50

I’m happy to say I don’t have a lot to lift. This is one reason why after I used this light serum cream all over my face the first time, I decided to use it only where there were some little lines like around my eyes and the odd small crease here and there. So far, I’ve used it daily for a week with no noticeable change. It’s possible that one week is not enough time, or because I didn’t have the other three products, I couldn’t experience a true effect. I’ll continue to use it until the sample tube runs out of product. If I see a change, I’ll adjust my comments.

Review - MMPI Skin Regenerating Serum by Patricia Wexler M.D.

No in-office procedures - just noticeable results from a professional grade anti-aging solution. It visibly repairs and improves skin inside and out, and is clinically shown to firm skin.

I got a sample of this regenerating serum from Bath and Body Works, and I have to say I was skeptical. When I opened the little jar I found hot pink waxy looking stuff that I really wasn’t convinced should actually be applied to one’s face. I must say I was pleasantly surprised when after a couple of weeks of use I noticed that my skin was so much softer looking, and absolutely beautiful. I’m 23, so I really didn’t have any major wrinkles or whatnot to test it against, but I did have a few (very small) laugh wrinkles around my eyes, which are completely not there anymore. When you apply this stuff you can sort of feel the layer of defense. You are supposed to apply before you put on your moisturizer, I did and I have to say I don’t think my skin has ever been so incredibly moisturized and healthy feeling. It is expensive, 3.4 oz for $55 on sale, but I probably got .5 of an ounce from them, have been using it morning and night for three weeks, and I have hardly dented the surface! I definitely think it is worth a try.
