Review - Face Stockholm Lash Boosting Mascara

Lash Booster

OUR NEW LASH-EXTENDING MASCARA!
Get noticeably longer, thicker and fuller lashes after only one day of use!
This revolutionary, strengthening and lengthening mascara with Booster Complex – a blend of rich vegetable waxes and polymers – nourishes and stimulates the growth of eyelashes.
Use Lash Booster as your everyday mascara for at least 60 consecutive days and get clinically-proven, measurable results: lashes up to 1.5 mm longer and 15% fuller! $34

You all know from my previous posts, that I love a good mascara.  Mascara with a growth formula to boot, makes it that much better.  FACE Stockholm is one of those classic companies that manage to come out with new goodies to keep with the trends.

I am used to bigger brushes, but this one had a normal sized brush. I instantly got longer and thicker lashes after applying.  The formula goes on smooth without any clumping.  Two coats will do.  Also make sure the coats are thin, even coats. My lashes felt extremely conditioned and glossy even after I washed it off later that night.

The price is $34, but remember you are paying for the mascara AND the lash booster.  So the price makes perfect sense.

Hillary says:
I too, love this mascara.  It goes on super smoothly, not to watery, not too thick.  And I am all about the lash boosting products.  Anything that can help my puy lashes is great in my book and so far, this mascara delivers.  Just by applying it my lashes look boosted- I'll have to get back to you to let you know if it helps my lashes grow as it is not supposed to be magic, but gradual over a couple of weeks.  I've been using it for about four days, so I'll write in a couple of weeks as to whether my lashes are longer or not.  But as far as using it as just a mascara, it's a really great one.

Review- Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

I can see why Maybelline's Great Lash Mascara remains an all-around classic. For an affordable price, my eyelashes can still look fuller and longer without too much fuss or hassle on my part from using this 40-year reliable formula and clean brush to separate the lashes. Although my eyelashes lean on the frail side, I think this is a sturdy and dependable mascara for someone who already has nice thick lashes and who would not require much curling or lengthening in the process. I have friends who fit this profile perfectly and a solid, straightforward mascara as Great Lash would be all they needed. While this mascara did run on me slightly, I'm happy to know that it is also made in a clear shade so no running worries to contend with! Overall, this mascara covers all the basics in an easy and reliable way holding up to the test of time, yet if you have more specific or targeted mascara needs, then Great Lash may hit some notes yet not all and still provide decent results. For the eyelash blessed, Great Lash does enhance what is already there! Yet, if you're like me and need more help with your eyelashes, Great Lash still works, but I did find I needed to lengthen and curl my lashes to fully maximize results, yet in the end they still looked classically nice.

Review- Rimmel London Glam'Eyes Day 2 Night Mascara

It’s the new standard in dramatic volume and length!Introducing Day-2-Night, Rimmel’s unbeatable new mascara that creates 2 dramatically different lash looks, all with 1 amazing new system. The secret is the magic double cap!1.Choose The Top Cap for Length. Stretches lashes to new distances, exceptionally defined and ultra-lengthened.2.Choose the Bottom Cap for Volume.

Every now and then I'll try a new mascara that surprises me in a very pleasant way and so far this mascara is keeping me all-around satisfied and happy! The formula is nice and rich, super helpful if your lashes are on the weak side like mine and need that fortifying boost. I tried to figure out how they managed to stack two different brushes on top of each other, but gave up, if it works, it works! I'm definitely feeling the lengthening end, it's a skinny wand and manages to really lift and separates the lashes in a very soft and pretty way. At first, I would wonder how did my lashes grow so long so instantly, and look so healthy, but realized it was just the magic of the brush and the mascara. The length stayed true all day too without fail, including getting caught in a few rainstorms lately. I wanted to test and see if this mascara could hold up even in a heavy downpour, and it did! No running, no dark lines under the eyes, just perky pretty lashes that handled extreme weather conditions. On a sad note, the volumizing brush didn't work too well for me. I don't think my fragile lashes can hold that much thickness on their own, but the lengthening (and strengthening) power of the overall mascara makes up for any missteps I may have created with the volumizing brush. I love this Rimmel mascara so much and am definitely more open now to trying their other mascaras as well!

NYC Show Time Volumizing Mascara

  • Dual Power Complex strengthens and thickens lashes
  • Volumized lashes up to 8 times without clumping
  • High Control Brush separates and builds instant volume for a fabulous and all-out-drama look
  • Flake-proof and smudge-proof for an all-night-long glamorous look
  • Ophthalmologist tested
  • Suitable for sensitive eyes and lens wearers
I feel like every New York Color (NYC) review goes about the same: "this product is way cheaper than it normally would be, and yet it's totally serviceable and fine." With that in mind, here's another one.

This mascara is a great everyday mascara. No clumping, a sturdy wand, and good coverage. I actually got it mixed up with a bunch of samples of different Sephora mascaras and used it thinking it was one of those, and when I realized it was the NYC, I was like "daaaaaaaang this is good." And it's like $4. Awesome.

Review - Lash Control Mascara

An innovative, squeezable mascara package which allows you to continuously regulate the desired amount of mascara product on the brush.

The built in wiper sleeve at the mouth of the mascara tube is easily manipulated.... Now your brush can be BOTH AN APPLICATOR AND LASH SEPARATOR.

STOP SCRAPING IT OFF OR WIPING WITH A TISSUE. JUST SQUEEZE. ITS THAT SIMPLE.

When I first saw this mascara, I was like "whaaaaaaaaaaaat is going on there?" See that purple part up there in the photo? It's flexible, like a jelly shoe. You squeeze that part as you're pulling the brush through, and it controls the amount of mascara that stays on your brush. (Thus the name, clearly.) Now, I love mascara almost more than anything (not pie, though, never pie). But I've never really had an issue with the amount of mascara on my brush; I've never been one to wipe it on a tissue or scrape it on the side of the tube. So I'm not exacly

If you have done either of those things, give Lash Control a try. It's perfectly serviceable mascara - nothing groundbreaking, but certainly good, long-lasting mascara with a helpful gimmick that for some of you might be a very helpful thing. It runs about $16, so it's on par with a department store brand. I tried the purple, which is the volumizing version, but it also comes in a waterproof version (blue) and a lengthening version (pink), so pick your poison.

NYC Maximum Boost Volumizing Mascara

Build each lash from root to tip for maximum volume ... silicone resin "wraps" lashes for visible thickness on contact. Pro-Vitamin B moisturizes and nourishes lashes for silky smooth texture. Shorter applicator rod delivers precision control.

As with all New York Color products, the main draw here is the price: this stuff is like $3! What! And as with all New York Color products, it is fine for the money. I would not say it is the most volumizing mascara I have ever used in my life, but neither is it completely ineffectual. Some of my friends and I had an analogy comparing a dude one of them was dating to Au Bon Pain: he was nice enough, but she was really only dating him because he was around. Au Bon Pain is fine, but does anyone ever seek it out? It's not really a destination restaurant; it's just the place you go because it's around the corner and if you don't get some coffee and a freaking pastry in your body right now you might stab someone. But it's pretty good coffee, and pretty good pastries, and you'd much rather have that than a bodega coffee and a croissant in a wrapper.

This mascara is like Au Bon Pain: not a destination mascara, but definitely better than nothing (or Wet 'n' Wild).

review - Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Mascara

Bobbi's boldest mascara ever—perfect for those who want the all-out drama of false lashes. Get instant volume, intense color and dramatic length. Super-thick, get-noticed lashes.
Why it's different:
- Unique formula remains pliable between coats, so lashes stay separated as volume builds.
- State-of-the-art formula creates super-thick and ultra-long lashes.
- Tapered, dual-fiber brush simultaneously lengthens and volumizes—grabs even small, hard-to-reach lashes.
- Dries quickly to a smudge-proof and flake-proof finish.
- Enriched with lash conditioners and vitamins A, C and E.

- Removes easily with eye makeup remover or soap and water.

Soooo.... If you all know me, and I'm sure a lot of you do, you will remember that I am a VERY tough reviewer of mascara. Many, many mascaras have not made the cut - by a long shot. This mascara, however, is very different. When I first tried Bobbi mascaras I got the Perfectly Defined Mascara, because I work for the parent company and could get it for free. I really liked it, and was douped into believing I was in love, because: it doesn't smudge, doesn't crumble, looks basically like false eyelashes (especially when used with a good eyelash curler) and basically stood up pigment wise with the very best of the best that I have ever used. My only complaint with the Perfectly Defined, well there are two. One it is amazingly stiff once you put it on, and basically you must remove it completely to repair for the evening. And two, IT WON'T COME OFF!!! I lost many an eyelash to my obsession with this mascara.
Then a colleague suggested I try the reformulated Extreme Party Mascara, touting it as the best of the best. Let me tell you it has all of the plusses of my old favorite, minus the.... well minuses. You can build it up in the evening for an even more bold look, enough so that a woman came up to me today and asked which kind of false lashes I was wearing. I mean really, after working all day and very little touching up I must admit this was a compliment more to the mascara than the wearer! Plus at the end of the night you can literally cup warm water into my hand and it will come off with very little effort. Have you ever heard of mascara that does that?
I recently bought two to receive a freebie of this, I have heard it will only last about 2-3 months before you know it is done, but for $22 (compared to others you can get around $30 in dept stores) I'm cool with it! I LOVE this mascara, and if you have the pocket change you will too!

Review - Smashbox Bionic Mascara

BIONIC is the first ionic mascara for longer, stronger and more voluminous super-power lashes! $19.00
.
I found that with the first application of this mascara it is a jet black color which is blacker than most mascaras that I own. I don’t have to apply multiple coats to get the desired effect. One coat and I am done: my lashes are thicker, longer, deep and rich in color. The formula is thicker than most so be careful when applying as you may need to wipe a little away. The claim is this bionic mascara will make your lashes stronger but I can’t tell if my lashes are stronger. I can comment on the fact that I get little to no flaking and removing is very easy with an eye makeup remover. It is all gone and without any serious scrubbing – wipes away with a little more than gentle rubs. I do want to let you know that this mascara does offer that spidery wispy effect too, this makes my lashes thick at the root and spidery at the end. I like this look but I know a lot of people who don’t so I just wanted to throw that fact out there too.

Trish says: There are a number of reasons why I really like this Bionic Mascara by Smashbox. First, the color!!! I've been getting into all kinds of different hues lately and trying this mascara in Indigo Ink is the perfect midnight bluish shade for my current fix! Dark enough to make a dramatic impact, but not so black you're thrown into a dark abyss. In a way, the richness of the color softly brings out the brown-ness of my eyes and brightens the whiteness of my eyes at the same time too. Next, it is a nice, thick formula as mentioned above and I feel that I only need one coating and that does the job sufficiently enough! I have pretty thin lashes to begin with and found this formula to thicken with merely one coating without clumping and giving a pretty clean curl while I'm at. Since I'm not caking on too much, I feel my lashes are pretty and long and soft enough, without the scary mascara gone wrong look. And my favorite part of all, absolutely no flaking and drying and messy raccoon eyes at the end of the day! Just a clean curl in a pretty shade that suits my playful and offbeat mood these days!

Review- Smashbox Reign Lash DNA Mascara in Plum

Bejewel lashes in a sumptuous new shade fit for a royal. This protein and amino acid packed formula dramatically lengthens, strengthens and defines for stand-out eyes. $18

Colored mascara is for makeupmaniacs. Generally only the most attuned and observant can spot someone wearing an actual color other than black or brown on someone else's lashes. This phenomenon holds true for the wearer, too. You kind of feel like you have a secret when you're wearing it until you get a knowing look from a fellow makeupphile. This plum colored delight adds allure to one's color story like any good mascara with a hint of hue. Also of note is that it's not a blue purple but more of a mauve purple which (again to the trained eye) comes across as a snazzy brown. There are actual iridescent rose sparkles in the product, too, which catch the light so subtly that you almost can't believe they're real. If you're in the market for a sumptuous quality mascara that adds to the very fun of wearing makeup then this is a flawless choice.

Review - The Balm Two Timer Mascara in Black

Two Brushes. One formula. Endless possibilities. Net Wt 0.32 oz (10 grams) $20
Starring: Jane Manizer, Marcus Lashalot (The Volumizer) & Johnny Finetune (The Definer).

I love The Balm mainly for their creativity. This product did not fail in that sense. I mean, just look at the names and the ad. How adorable! I absolutely love the old-fashioned setting.
One side promises volume and the other promises length. You can wear them together or separately.
So the concept is to use the volumizing side first and then use the other side to lengthen and separate. This did make my lashes very long but I didn't see a huge difference in the volume. What I do like about this is that is didn't give me ugly raccoon eyes. The formula glides on very smoothly and there was no clumps. I actually fell asleep with this on and I woke up without a smudge. That is because of the water resistant polymer in the formula.
If you are looking for a good water proof mascara with a lot of versatility then this is the one for you.

Movie Maven says: Oh, The Balm. I loved your insouciant naming conventions and your delightfully retro-inspired packaging right from the start, but then when I started using your Shady Lady eyeshadow, I was pleased to find that your products were great as well. Your quality continues in this dual mascara tube, with the same mascara in both ends, but with different brushes; one for volume and one for definition. Like my colleague above, I found that the mascara did a great job with length; less so with volume, though I am happily not a lady who needs a huge amount of volume. The way I've been using this product is to use the volumizing end for day and the defining end for evening - my lashes looked glorious for my Mad Men premiere party last night, and I didn't even have to use falsies. Even Joan Holloway would be scandalized.

Review- Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash

Bare Escentuals Buxom® Lash Mascara - Blackest Black holds the style of your lashes for a continuous 12 hours with no flakiness. The silky, vitamin-rich formula darkens, lengthens, and thickens from root to tip without ever clumping. Its patented, hourglass-shaped brush is designed to lift and separate every lash while delivering the perfect amount of antioxidant-rich mascara needed for bigger, fuller lashes. 1 tube for $18

For reasons not interesting enough to detail, I have not been a supporter of the mineral movement. I cannot lie, Bare Escentuals has been a dirty word to me. For this reason, I wasn't that geeked about trying their mascara but I am pleased and humbled to say that this product is pretty much flawless. It's all in the brush, people. I am an old school cake mascara girl, all the way, when I do other peoples' makeup but when it comes to my personal preference, I need something durable, non-flaky, great-in-any-weather, non-clumping and lightening quick to apply. (Hey, I never said I wasn't high maintenance.) Buxom provides a great eye look that doesn't move until my lashes see a cotton ball and eye makeup remover at the end of the day. The brush, as I was saying, holds so much quality product yet the bristles are short enough to control the application of it with complete ease. The only thing I am only sorry about is that this was a sample size tube!

Review- Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes! Mascara

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes! 4-in-1 Mascara is what we call a push-up bra for your lashes—a 4-in-1 (lengthening, curling, volumizing, and conditioning) dermatologist- and clinically-proven to increase the appearance of lash volume by 430% after applying giving dramatic, thick and sexy lashes. $18 for a 0.24oz tube.

I am a complete and utter mascara junkie. I never leave the house without 3 coats of the stuff, and I am always looking for the perfect formula to seriously beef up my lashes. I was pretty excited to try out Tarte's Lights, Camera, Lashes! mascara, but I have to say I wasn't as impressed as I hoped I would be. The formula went on smoothly and clump free, but my usual 3 coats my lashes were well, pretty much oomph-free. I gave it another coat for good measure, but within a few hours my lashes were back to their original, practically nonexistent state. I've done much better with drugstore brands that cost of a third of the price. Overall its a pretty good product for someone who prefers a more subtle look, not a drama girl like me.

Review- Lancôme Ôscillation Mascara

Press the button and experience a breakthrough sensation in application. In one easy new gesture, let the vibrating brush combined with an exquisitely smooth formula wrap every lash up to 360°. $34

You've heard me say it before, but this time I mean it absolutely- I LOVE this mascara. It makes my lashes look so full and long that the first time I wore it at some point during the evening my husband asked me if I was wearing fake eyelashes. When I said "No. It's my new mascara." My computer geek husband even said "It's very good." (no offense honey, but you know you are). Anyway like the blurb above says, it actually wraps around your lashes. I'll admit that although I was excited to try this product, I had serious doubts about the "oscillation" part. But it does magic with the lashes. Oscillation means to move back and forth between two points according to the dictionary, and the wand of this mascara oscillates 7,000 time per minute! I think this would be a stand-out even without the motion, but with the motion it goes above and beyond any mascara I've used before (and I've used some of the best). I've already got another tube on hand in case I run out! Now I will warn you, if you are a natural-look girl, this mascara may be a bit too bold for you (unless you like your lashes to be the most noticable thing on your face). But for girls like myself who go for the prominent lash look, you cannot go wrong with this little gem. I have it in black (of course) but it also comes in Gunmetal and Metallic Brown (note to self- get some in Gunmetal). To sum up what I'm saying, this mascara is easy to use (I apply it on the subway) and does amazing things for your lashes. All of you skimpy-lashed girls have got to run out and get it now. Oh and the pricetag, expensive- yes. Worth every penny- an emphatic YES!

Review - Maybelline Lash Stiletto Ultimate Length Mascara

Seductive Length / Shiny Patent Finish / Strengthens & Conditions / Grip & Extend Brush
Ophthalmologist tested / Contact lens safe $7.49

Here is a mascara that really does lengthen my lashes. It give me the really long thin lashes. I really like the look. The brush is really long so you can grab just about the entire upper lashes with only a tiny bit to apply on the inside. It does deliver s shiny look which I am not used to, they seem glossy with is pretty darn striking. Also have to comment on the easy to remove, a little eye makeup remover and it's gone. I wear contact and can vouch for the ability to wear without any irritations too. I have been wearing daily and I do notice that off and on I do see a flake here and there so beware of that. I have used many others that start flaking when it dries down.. This is a really nice product at a great price point!

Amanda S. Says: OK. OK people listen up, my favorite mascaras have been booted down a notch. I have posted before (and I will undoubtedly post again) that out of all the beauties on this site, I am the most ridiculously horrible at applying make up and making it work. Although I love the stuff, I'm messy and always have trouble applying mascara, it smudges, it's all over my face, I look like a panda and my lashes are clumped up and sticking out all over the place. But the Lash Stiletto was REALLY easy to apply, I'm not sure if it was the applicator or the thickness of the product, but it didn't go on all heavy and clump up on me, and when I do my unmistakable eye rubbing, it didn't smear off everywhere either. My lashes looked much longer than usual, it stayed all day.. and oh yea, this is at least $20 cheaper than the mascara I usually use. GET IT!

Deedlejuse Says: Yes! To Lash Stiletto! really anything by Maybelline is pretty darn good, and for cheap, but this is quickly topping my all time favorites list as well. I didn't notice any of the flaking that Cityslicker mentioned, but I might have just not noticed... My favorite part, if you really can pinpoint one is the very cool spiky look this mascara gives your lashes, seriously the reason they call it Stiletto is because that's the illusion it gives your eyes! I prefer to use this at night or when trying to look super posh and glamorous, because it really will draw a lot of attention to the eyes. I also thought that the removal process was awesome, one of my biggest complaints with some mascaras is that it just won't come off without a fight, this really just wipes clean super-easily. I really like this stuff and totally second Amanda S's GET IT!

Maria says: Back in the day, if I was purchasing a mascara at a drug store, it was always a Maybelline one. Always. To me, they always had a formula that did right by my stick-straight light colored lashes. Funny, the one mascara I HATED by Maybelline seems to be THE be-all-end-all for models and the like - you know the one I'm talking about in the pink and green tube. Great Lash. My all time fave Maybelline mascara was discontinued. Illegal Lengths was its name, and no one was more bummed than me when that little jewel went away...so I moved on to L'Oreal...quickly moved on....have settled (and loved) for the past year and a half the big fatty orange tube by Covergirl, so when Lash Stiletto came my way, I was all: "I'm not going to like this". But....I do. Surprise. This sort of reminds me of what Illegal Lengths did - but with more glossiness, and I'm thinking more length. I get no real volume to speak of, which I like, but if you're looking for length...then, yes, LS might just be your ticket. I doesn't irritate my contact-lens wearing eyes, it's pretty easy to remove, and it's not smudgy on my lower lashes. It's rather a glamorous mascara actually...I'm glad I got a chance to try it, because to be honest, I bet I would have never bought into the hype. I'll keep test driving and will come in for an update, but for now - a healthy thumbs up for Lash Stiletto.

Hillary says: Is it me or are drugstore mascaras getting better and better? This one from Maybelline sets out to raise the bar and acheives it. My lashes look long, thick and (very importantly) separated. So often with this kind of length you get what looks like three long eyelashes as all your lashes have fused into mega-lashes (and not in a good way). Not so with this puppy. The odd part is that looking at the brush I wouldn't have anticipated anything special as the only difference I can see is more bristles than usual. Those extra bristles really do coat the lashes and separate at the same time. This product is more about length than volume, but it's no slouch about thickening your lashes. This is a great mascara for a great price.

Review - e.l.f. Earth & Water Mascara Duo

Revolutionary Liquid-Flex™ Technology – Long-Lasting, Smudge and Smear Proof $1.00
.
I have to be completely upfront. I don't use waterproof mascara.. I had a bad experience a long time ago so I am only sharing my opinion of the regular mascara. The formula is nice. It's not harsh on my eyes and fine for contact wearers. The color is a true deep black. I don't have naturally long eyelashes. I found that this minimally lengthens my lashes and wears nicely throughout the day but I do see some flaking, nothing serious but a few flecks here and there. The brush is standard. It requires a little wiping off before application. This is a SUPER find at only $1!

Movie Maven says:
Looks like CitySlicker and I are a perfect pair for this review, because I never use anything but waterproof mascara (though I did use the regular once, just to try it). I tend to fuss with my eyes a lot throughout the day, and if I don't use a waterproof mascara, I end up looking like I've taken a 24-hour flight around the world and never slept. In any event, the waterproof version of this duo is a fine budget mascara. It's not going to perform any miracles, but if you're fairly happy with the length of your lashes, and only have a dollar to spend on mascara, this is a good option. It's a little clumpy, but again - IT'S A DOLLAR. Just be sure to wipe it off first and apply gently.

Deedlejuse Says:
Well, I guess I just have to say that roll the two together and that is my take on this mascara! I actually don't have too much issue with either waterproof or regular mascara, but I tend to wear regular most often. With that being said I will tell you I noticed that the waterproof felt more substantial than the regular when I wore it, I didn't have any issue with flaking throughout the day (which is unheard of) and I literally can't believe that this is $1!! I have spent much more and been much more disappointed than I was with this mascara. Again, with all that being said I found it particularly standard issue and prefer my favorites to this, even though it is a duo. BUT I'm super snobby. I would definitely recommend it to others less picky than I, but I probably wouldn't re-purchase.

Sheba says I love both of them. I will use any mascara that works well for me -- regardless of price. . . and these both work great. No matter what brand or type of mascara -- I always use my lash brush -- I am addicted to it. Thus, I just about never have flaking, etc. I prevent it right away. I found these mascaras to build upon my lashes and give them a fuller and longer look. That is what I want from a mascara and I got the look I wanted. Hey, I have paid a LOT more and have not been satisfied at all. If I want longer lashes when using these mascaras - I simply add another coat. They both lasted well for me and both came off relatively easy. I did not look like a racoon after removing them. Once again, I think e.l.f. has put some very expensive eye products to shame! e.l.f. is welcome with open arms -- especially in this economy. I may be frugal but I would not recommend or continue to buy something just because it is less expensive -- it has to work! Every e.l.f. product I have tried has worked as well or better than some of my more snobby brands!!

Review- Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Mascara (in Plum)

A lush stroke of lash-enhancing color. Pigment-rich formula defines lashes in wearable color for look-at-me eyes. Made in U.S.A. Usually $7, but it's currently on sale 2/$12 or 5/$20.

This mascara is fine. There's nothing wrong with it, but there's nothing to write home about it either. It doesn't clump or flake, but I have to apply a few layers to see a result. I have this mascara in Violight, which is the old name for Plum although I just got this 2 months ago, so it's not that old. The thing that disappointed me about this mascara is the lack of purple-ness. When I buy a colored mascara, I want the color to be obvious. This looks just like black on my reasonably dark lashes. Perhaps on a blonde or a redhead this mascara would show up wonderfully (who knows?), but on me it's just an average mascara that looks like it's black. If you are lighter toned and you've used this mascara with success, leave a comment or write me because I'd be totally curious to know.

Review - Almay One Coat Nourishing Mascara Thickening

Up to 100% thicker lashes in one smooth, even coat. This volumizing formula builds lashes double thick in one quick, clump-free application. Nourishing formula is infused with aloe and vitamin B5 to help keep lashes conditioned and silky. Extra gentle, non irritating formula.

I have to admit that I am one of the hardest people on mascara. I tend to spend a lot on my mascara for the sheer fact that if I don't I end up with raccoon eyes before noon. Not a good look for anyone. This One Coat Nourishing Mascara - Thickening by Almay might just have changed my mind. I have been wearing it for a couple of weeks exclusively to see what kind of results I would end up with, and I have to say it way outperformed my expectation! Not only does it wear like an absolute dream, but it also seems to plump your lashes a bit after extended use. Amazing, and for under $5 an ounce, which will last you forever by the way. It is easy to remove, doesn't crust, flake or smear throughout the day and it looks more like a much pricier mascara. I am sold, I will be re-purchasing because it is soooo much easier to shell out $5 instead of $25. You will not be dissappointed!

Review- Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes Mascara

"High-Precision Panoramic Mascara
Introducing Givenchy’s revolutionary new mascara! Its innovative new design and high-precision application method will make all existing mascaras a thing of the past. For many women, applying mascara is still a difficult process. Without a steady hand, it is hard to get precise results. That’s why Givenchy has taken a leaf out of this daring new design offering a brand-new way to apply mascara. Givenchy’s groundbreaking patented spherical brush reaches everywhere. It simplifies application, for perfectly shaped eyes and spectacular panoramic results." $28

Let me say right off the bat, I adore this mascara! As you can see from the photo above it is not your typical mascara. The spherical applicator does take some getting used to, but if you are patient enough to take the time to get it right, your lashes will look amazing. And after a few applications you'll feel as if you've been using a round brush forever. This mascara coats every bit of every lash more than any other mascara I've used. It gets all the tiny little lashes that you usually ignore because it's too much trouble. They are a breeze with this mascara. Instead of "swiping" on this mascara, you sort of "paint" it on by running the round brush from root to tip on every section of the lashes. It reminds me of what it would be like to put on regular mascara if the brush was only 1/2 an inch long. Also the black is a true black for dramatically defined lashes. I also have not had to use a spoolie or a comb to get rid of any clumps since I've been using it. Like everything, it does have a drawback: it looked horrible when I applied it to my lower lashes. I think it does such a good job of defining and thickening that it made me look a bit like a cupie doll. Granted, I do not usually wear mascara on my lower lashes, so maybe someone more used to the look would have no problem with this mascara on the bottom. That said, I think every lady who is due a splurge should run to Sephora and buy this mascara. If you like long, defined, curled lashes that stay the day, this should be your next treat to yourself!

Handy Tip from someone who LIVES @ Sephora- If you want to try this but are afraid you won't like it, buy it from Sephora and keep your receipt. They will accept returns on things you are dissatisfied with. Sephora rules!

Review - Almay One Coat Nourishing Mascara, Lengthening

"Get 100% thicker lashes in one clump-free coat. This volumizing formula builds lashes double long in one quick, smooth, clump-free application.
Nourishing formula is infused with aloe and Vitamin B5 to keep lashes feeling conditioned and cared for. Specially designed Quick Coat Brush wraps Mascara evenly around every lash as it separates for a full, lush, high-volume look. No clumps, flakes or smudges. " usually under $5.00

Almay is a very good brand that is hypo allergenic and very gentle. It is an excellent every day mascara which can be used for day and night - according to how many layers you want to apply. I always use my eyelash brush (even when the product claims to be clump-free). However, I really did not see clumps when using it. I like the brush for the clumps and to make certain the lashes are completely separate and some are not stuck together. This can add a little color, body, and length or quite a bit of drama to the eyes. It has staying power, yet, is easy to remove when you want to remove it. Actually, every once in a while my eyes will act up from mascara ( allergies -- they itch) but this does not occur with the Almay. So if I am using another brand and the allergies kick in - I immediately switch to Almay. They advertise that it is hypo allergenic and I guess I am proof that is true. I have to say you cannot go wrong for the price. I always have a couple of Almay mascaras handy -- in case of allergic reaction to other brands. I would not be without it.

Review - Vanitymark The Lash Mascara

Movie Maven says:

I love mascara. I do. And I have tried many. This one, The Lash by Vanitymark, is a shining example of what mascara can be. The best thing about this mascara is seriously - no clumps. On the real. They must be geniuses over there at the Vanitymark labs - they shouldn't be creating mascara; they should be ending world hunger. I bet they could do it, because this mascara is some sort of miracle. I'm in love with it. Now, I will say that while I love mascara, my lashes are pretty okay to begin with. Dark, longish (though unfairly not as long as my younger brother's, which: what? Why do boys always have beautiful lashes? But I digress) and overall just fine. So when it comes to mascaras, I don't need a whole lot of help - just a little curl here, a little length there, a little fullness all around. I suspect that if you are someone who feels they need a lot of help, this mascara might not do it for you (which is why, I assume, Vanitymark makes a primer as well). But as someone who loves mascara and likes a medium amount of help, this formula is perfect.

Amanda S. Says: For those that did not hear Ms. Maven, NO CLUMPS. I have complete wimp lashes. They're lighter than my hair color and skimpy. As above, I used the primer (which I will tout again in another entry I'm sure). As it is, I feel like any minute the teeny amount of lashes I have are going to fall out and I will be a complete freak. This mascara really plumped them up and made me feel proud of my lash situation instead of chagrin and afraid for their future.

.
CitySlicker Says: First off I need lash help. My lashes are little twigs that need to be built upon. This mascara works really well for me. I apply over the primer and upon the second or third swipe I can see that the mascara is doing it's job. My lashes are thicker and longer. The best feature is, as mentioned, the no clumping factor. Another positive feature is the fact that it builds without over building my lashes. My lashes look long and lush without that thick, God rest her soul, Tammy Faye look. I think it goes on easily and doesn't flake throughout the day either. I wear contacts and have had no adverse reactions. I will use this till the wand runs dry! I almost forgot - washing off is easy, I find that with my normal eye makeup remover I can remove everything and not have that raccoon eye with a ring of grey underneath, no rings on me! Thanks Brett Freedman for creating a fun line that has worked wonders on my wisps!

Deedlejuse Says: I just have to fourth (I guess) what everyone else has said, and add that this is my new favorite mascara, and I am super picky. I also like the no clumps thing, but even if it did clump I would be willing to deal just so I could have the easy removing factor! I have never been more pleased with the way a mascara comes off. Even if you tear up (it has been like -20 up here recently!) all you do is wipe your eyes and voila! its off, just re-apply when you know your safe and go on with your day. I was expecting it to flake or smudge because I noticed how easily it came off the first time I wore it. So I was really vigilant for a few days after....nothing. It looks beautiful on your eyes, wears impeccably, and comes off in a jiff. How could you possibly ask for more? Seriously this Brett Freedman is sensational, I have to try something else from their line just to see what other cosmetics they have mastered!

Sheba says: Who am I to disagree??? These girls know what they are talking about -- I actually had my lashes brush my glasses because they are so long and beautiful. They brushed the lens but did not smear or anything. Okay, so I am going a little beyond with this mascara (no need to have lashes hit glasses)-- but I can't help it. I used the primer which really enables the mascara to be so gorgeous. I will never go without primer again. I used my lash brush out of habit -- but I didn't really need to. My lashes had no clumps (just like everyone said) and they did not stick together or flake. I just cannot say enough good things about this Vanitymark The Lash Mascara. It is just about impossible to exaggerate about this mascara -- it is that good!! Even if you do not want to use it on a daily basis (but you will) you must use it at night. I totally agree that Brett Freedman should be in the makeup Hall of Fame. I also have to see what else has been created by this genius!! No, I do not work for them -- but I would in a flash -- especially a flash of my eyelashes!!
