Review - Liz Earle Superskin Body Cream

I wanted desperately to love this cream. Its Liz Earle, for goodness sake, and everything she comes out with is sooooo up my alley. Natural, organic, cool list of things that are good for you (including a ton of anti-oxidant rich essential oils) and she really seems to think about the products that she puts out. All of which I love! This cream, however, I just couldn't get into. I love the way it hydrates. I love the way it smooths in completely in seconds and you aren't left with ANY greasiness. I love the way it smells as you apply (sort of like really high quality cranberry or pomegranate essential oil), but after wearing for a number of hours it totally turns on me. I smell like a dirty powder puff, and like LOUDLY smell like a dirty powder puff. I work in perfume, so I'm super sensitive to things like this (hopefully someone else whose skin doesn't tend to make things smell weird has this too and can completely disagree with me!) But I honestly could not get over the way it makes me smell. Oh, and yes, people: $55 for 6.7 oz is so totally worth it! Unless of course you have skin that tends to change things into not so good smells. I would recommend trying the 1.6 fl oz tube first, or maybe even going to a store and slathering yourself and wearing it for the day to make sure the dirt/powder thing doesn't happen to you! I will say again though, I don't think you can go wrong with Liz Earle products. I have never been completely disappointed, and even this issue is hopefully my skin doing things. Give her a try, you will love her!

Sultana says: I used this after taking a bath at night. When I wake up in the morning, the smell kind of a fades a bit but its still there. I have no problems with this whatsoever. It moisturizes really well. I suggest you try in the evening after a bathe so you can really see how well it soothes your skin.
I tend to get really dry skin, especially in the winter. I used this until there was literally nothing left in the tube. Liz Earle, you have done it again!

I know I frequently say this about various body butters and creams that we review on this site, but seriously: I COULD EAT THIS LOTION. I shouldn't even really call it a lotion, because it is so much more than that. It's so creamy I don't know what to do with myself. If you put it in a pie crust, I would probably eat it (and then be like "why are you wasting this body cream in my mouth when it should be hydrating my dry skin? Give me some strawberry rhubarb pie instead.") It smells ridiculously amazing (if you like coconut, but then again, why would you even consider buying this if you don't like coconut), and is perfect for after the shower. My one caveat is that if you, like me, take your showers before bedtime, give yourself some time to just sit and hydrate before getting into bed.

This product is very rich and thick, perfect for the winter when most of us are parched beyond belief. The scent is a lovely light fruity scent. To me it has a light mango scent - sort of like a fruit salad. I am applying this right after showering to lock in the moisture.. It feels great and does absorb quickly. I am totally hooked on this. My skin is in much better shape since using this as I am moisturized and my skin isn't flaky or tight. This bottle is a little small for a body product weighing in at only 5 oz and once you try this you will want it in a 16oz tub. It is that yummy!

So, I was recently at a trade-show for all natural products recruiting for my store. The best part about trade shows is that you get a-bajillion samples of an insane number of products. In most cases I was relatively unimpressed with the samples of detoxifying P.M. deodorants, and detoxifying foot pads. ( imagine all of the crazy all-natural things people come up with and then throw all those people into one room so they can try to sell their crazy products to whomever walks past them) So, I have been dutifully trying everything in my goody bag, thinking about what might work for me when I opened a little pouch of heaven. This Lemon Cream Body Cream smells like cake, or lemon mousse, or some other delicious desserty kind of thing. It leaves your skin eadibaly soft, and soaks in in a few seconds. Watkins is a brand that has been around forever, and is sort of like the go-to place for all natural, never tested on animals, and inexpensive body products. They just work, but I don't think any of them smell better than this Lemon Cream.

As far as body crème’s go this is by far one of the creamiest! It’s rich, thick and full of fragrance... I didn’t jump and buy the $55 jar; I have a slew of samples. It’s a big bouquet of scent, I can pick up the lily in it, as anyone knows lilies are quick strong and to rate this scent I would have to say it’s on the strong side. I think it’s very pretty and feminine to but it’s also bold too. I like the crème but don’t love it, yes it makes my skin feel amazingly soft and supple but it actually takes a long time to absorb into my skin. I use after showering and I can still feel tacky on my way to work. I am also not slathering it on, remember I am using from a sample pack. This is great for a day when you are lounging around and want to pamper yourself. If you are looking for a cream that goes on and you can get going this is not it. On the days I use the crème I don’t need any perfume at all. The scent wears on my skin throughout the day, it is so pretty. When I initially got a whiff of the Juicy Couture Fragrance I didn’t love it but having used the crème I would totally give the fragrance a go!

This is another product that I got from Arbonne and this by far is the superior one. I have NEVER used a body product like it. In the tub it looks like a typical body cream; when I first touch it feels like a light whipped moisturizer and when I first applied I knew this was something different. It feels velvety soft and absorbs just about instantly leaving not a smidge of oiliness or greasiness behind! My skin instantly feels like a baby’s bottom, super soft and smooth, it’s great all over and the results last. I am totally in love with this product and will re-buy over and over... It’s got a light ocean clean scent that isn’t over powering. I swear one touch and you will be a believer. I have had my container umm maybe 3 weeks and I am at the bottom. Run and check it out!

Review - Space.NK enrapture body balm

I have been using this body balm for over a week now and I must say it does leave my skin very hydrated, soft, silky, and so smooth. It has shea butter and cocoa butter along with the other mositurizing ingredients and the combination works wonders for my skin. It claims to protect the skin from dehydration and I believe that claim. The one exception that gets through that protection is my monster dog. He is in love with the scent - if I even put a drop on in a room 2 rooms away from him -- he majically appears. He is not content to just smell it -- he tries to lick it. Sometimes he succeeds leaving me running for an extra wash wherever he got me. Then after applying it I need to close the door to the room I am in. Once I am safe the balm is allowed to work and it does do its job. Luckily, the fragrance does not affect other dogs the same way or I would be in big trouble. Skip just might be a enrapture addict. I try to put it on just before leaving for work which does not allow my pooch time to smooch it all off of me. The scent is different from any I have used before and it is a tad bit stronger than I am used to. If you like tuberose, ylang ylang, black currant bud, and orange blossom - you will be enraptured by the scent. The fragrance has lasting power and will remain with you for the time it remains on. It fades later in the day -- which is to be expected of any scented cream. Actually the cost seems a little high -- but, believe me, you don't need a lot for it to work. It will last longer for me when I make sure my little monster is not able to get at me when I apply it.

So, I just got a sample of this Cream Oil by Dove in the mail the other day, and I think it is awesome!! I love the smell. In fact I would probably say it is the nicest smelling Dove product I have ever had. Often the smell of Dove creams is just over-the-top rich for me. They really smell creamy and thick, and this one doesn't. It just smells light and sort of sweet. Then the texture is also very light and soaks in super quickly. I really enjoyed this product, and I would probably get it again. It leaves your skin so soft and moisturized and silky feeling. For under $6, how can you go wrong!

Sheba says: I totally agree. I am not sure if it is because this is a combination of their oil and cream but it works very well. Like Deedlejuse said it is light and absorbs almost as you apply it. . . so fast! Maybe the oil takes away some of the usual heaviness but whatever it is this combination really does work. I am also enjoying the very light scent. I cannot put my finger on it but it is sort of sweet as Deedlejuse mentioned and she is the scent expert. Your hands feel very soft, smooth and hydrated. I believe you would find it difficult to locate a product that works as well for the reasonable cost of this lotion.

Review - Lady Primrose Body Creams

I actually have two of these lovely body creams: Royal Extracts with Royal Jelly, and the soft smelling Ambience. The royal extracts is amazing really, it's so thick and luxurious and goes on cool and softly, absorbs quickly and instantly stopped the evil dryness on my elbows (YES! my elbows, which are so dry it's a total embarrassment.) If you have really dry skin that is aged, super dry, sun damaged or rough, the royal extracts would be just amazing to give a try. The Ambience smells delicious too, like a hint of peonies (one of my favorite scents and flowers) and also is super softening, although much lighter. I love to use the Ambience cream on my hands actually, although it's a body cream, because it smells so softly and absorbs so fast without looking greasy at all.

I got the same two scents, Ambience and Royal Extract. I agree with Amanda S, the Royal Extract is super thick and creamy, and really does an amazing job at relieving even the most irritating dry skin. My legs are really just out-of-control dry this winter, and even though some lotions helped nothing was as nourishing as this Royal Extract. My only complaint about the Royal Extract is the smell. Perhaps it is just my finicky nose but some florals do not make me happy at all, and this one is definitely one of those. Unfortunately for me (but great for someone who likes the smell) the scent lingers for hours and I thought it was pretty strong. The Ambience on the other hand is light and a little thinner, but still an awesome lotion, and the smell was to-die-for. Love it, I would wear this instead of perfume because it is just so lovely. It does smell a little bit like peony's, or some other wonderfully pink luxurious flower.

I tried the Royal Extract and found that it is all that it promises. It works wonders on exceptionally dry areas of skin and moisturizes the rest just right. I am very aware of scents for some reason. This does have that very nice fragrance that everyone mentioned. However, it is overpowering for me. Why do scents I do not want to linger -- always linger??? It seemed to clash with my cologne even after several hours. It is not that I do not like the scent -- actually it is a very nice fragrance but it is just a bit too strong for me. I cannot argue with the excellent results with my skin. I will continue to use it but will not put any competing cologne or perfume on when I use it. That will keep my nose happy as well as my skin.

I, too, got two scents of this body cream, the Ambience and the Royal Extract. I, too, am a woman who notices scents. But: I actually really liked the Royal Extract scent, while the Ambience (really descriptive name, I know) left me wishing I'd used something else. The thing about the Royal Extract is that it's floral without being froufrou, which I like, while I found the Ambience to be cloying and old-ladyish. Looks like I'm in the minority here, so I think the key with this lotion is to try it before you buy it (or buy a small tube so you're not stuck with something you don't like). But I heartily agree with everyone else's assement of the lotion's effectiveness - it's thick and creamy and you need just a tad to make dry skin disappear!

I have the Ambiance body cream. I was able to use it only once. I got a small tube that I stretched to cover the entire body after a shower. The scent is amazing. Two of my favorite flowers are in this blend, peony and lily of the valley. Anyone who knows lily of the valley knows it’s a tiny delicate flower but has a very powerful fragrance. It’s great to see how they blended them together. I can smell the lily of the valley but it doesn’t overpower the other notes... The day I used this, I didn’t need to apply any perfume this cream absorbs lightning fast, the results were super soft skin. My body was totally hydrated throughout the entire day and the scent stayed with me even through my workout... This is a really nice product. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Of the two received, I'm going to have to go with the Ambience of my favorite of the two (Royal Extract being the other). Ambience was more my "style" of scent while the Royal Extract was a little much for me - too overpowering. The moisturizing was very nice on both- I too have been in dry-skin overdrive this winter with patches everywhere on my legs and arms. Yuk. I find that these soothe those areas and take that scaly appearance away. I used the entire tube of the Ambience, and will finish using the Royal Extract at night on my elbows and knees -- it's just a little too strong for me for day use.

Review - Elizabeth W Body Cream

Smell incredible, feel fresh, and look fabulous. Richly thick and intensely hydrating, elizabeth W creams absorb well to leave a silky, not greasy sensation. Perfect for hand or body, they are nourishing when rubbed into skin.

I tried the Lilac body cream from Elizabeth W. The scent is the one thing about this body cream that really sets it apart from others. Lilac is a really hard smell to get right. They can either be over the top sweet, or way too acidic. This body cream really hit the spot though, really just beautiful, soft, yet lasting scent. The cream itself is nice, it leaves your skin smooth, soft and hydrated. It has some good natural ingredients like algae extract and Shea Butter. The packaging is also very attractive, a great gift idea!

Sheba says: I decided to try a very different scent for me -- 'Leaves'. I have never tried anything like this before. I don't know how to describe it other than it smells exactly like fresh leaves to a plant. It is a very clean and fresh scent and it is not a heavy scent. The cream, itself, contains shea butter and vitamin e-- two of the best things for skin. It absorbs very quickly into your skin -- no need to wipe off excess. Your skin is left with a very fresh, silky feel to it. There is no residue if you happen to lean against something. The scent does last a while so I use it when I do not intend to put on another fragrance that just might fight this pleasant one. $28.00 for 5 oz. might seem a bit high, but this size will last you for quite a while. It works out to be quite reasonable when you consider its benefits and how long this will last in your bag of tricks. I might add that my next purchase will be more in my one of my usual fragrance areas, citrus. 'Leaves' is fresh and clean smelling but I do wish I had selected 'Citrus Vervain'.

City Slicker Says: I have this cream in Vetiver.. I didn’t know what the heck vetiver was till a friend told me that is was a bush that is found on the island of Nantucket that spawns little white flowers, surely it is found elsewhere but this was my first time I had heard of it. This cream is very light and whipped feeling. It’s so easy to apply. I have been using it after showering when I am still a little damp. My hope is to lock in the moisture. The scent is really nice; it’s very green and fresh. I really enjoy it. I am delighted that it absorbs so quickly and doesn’t leave my body feeling greasy at all. I have noticed that the soft smooth skin is there all day till I undress and pop into bed so it totally lasts throughout... The container is a tad bit small for the $$ is my only gripe...

Sheba says: This is a terrific combination for a scent. I never would have thought of putting mint and vanilla together but it is a real treat to smell. The product, itself, put me off at first. It is really compacted into the jar. However, I learned the trick to using it very quickly. Simply take a small amount out and enclose it in your closed fist for a few seconds. The body heat makes it pliable and very easy to smooth on. It is a great treatment for night as they suggest. I do use it on the elbows and feet. They feel a lot less rough since I have instituted this regime. I will continue as I like this smooth feeling and I love the scent. It is a very refreshing fragrance and the product is smoothing for your skin and feet.

Review - L'annine Lemon Hand and Body Cream

I've been using this cream on my hands for 2 days at work after my many compulsive hand washes, and there is something really unique about it. I'm not sure if it's the fact that it is 'silicone based' as the packaging says, or what, but it absorbs incredibly fast and really plumps up and hydrates my skin with absolutely no greasy weird after-feel. I have to admit though, even though I think the cream in and of itself is top notch, the truly significant factor here to me is the smell. It smells like Pez and I can't stop smelling my hands after I put it on! I love the smell, it's really delicious and cute.

This is the kind of product I’d love to have with me all the time for my hands. I used it on my legs, as well. At first I thought it wasn’t doing much. I waited a minute then stroked my legs again. They were smooth, and I realized I’ve become used to greasier products. I can see that this is perfect to use anytime, but especially when wearing more delicate fabrics like silk or lace, and especially in the summer. I also liked the light, fresh lemony scent.

I am on board with the other reviews. I found this to be an exceptional hand cream. I have used it at home after washing my hands and at work. I need a hand cream that doesn't leave my palms greasy. I am known to have sweaty palms so you can understand why a dry palm that is grease free is nec. This cream is just that. it goes on and it seems within a minute after rubbing on, it's completely absorbed and hands are velvety soft and smooth. The scent reminds me of a lemon lollipop. It's lemony and sweet at the same time. I am also seeing an improvement around my cuticles.. Hallelujah!!

I totally agree with everyone above. This cream is really amazing! It leaves your hands so silky smooth, and smells amazing. I actually think the smell might be my favorite part of this hand cream. Not because I don't love the way it makes my hands feel, or am not amazed by it's staying power, and haven't noticed a difference in the overall look of the skin on the back of my hands, because I have noticed all of those things. The reason that my favorite part is the smell is because it smells soooooo wonderful. I love it, it is like a sweet lemony pie or something. This is the best smelling natural lotion ever. Two happily moisturized thumbs up!

Sheba says: I found this cream to be extremely effective. Other creams work well and I am happy with them. This goes beyond. My skin seems to drink it up and then quickly show me the results. I wash my hands numerous times a day as I do have my dog and he is a licker. My hands get dry from all of the washing but that dryness just disappears with this cream. You would not even know that they had been as dry as they were. This had found a place in my regime for sure. However, I selected the Avocado cream which has a very refreshing scent. I will definitely go for the Lemon next time around after reading all the reviews. One of my favorite scents is Fresh Sugar Lemon and it sounds like the lemon would blend with that very nicely. The cost is very reasonable for the benefits I received.

This came to my via a friend, I was told it worked wonders on dry chapped lips.. I am lip gloss, liner, lipstick fiend so my lippies are dry by the end of the day. I typically lube them up in the evening so they can refresh & plump up then start over the next day.. I am the type of girl that feels naked without something on my lips, having said that you can understand my pleasure when this was presented to me.. I felt no need to use this in any other way.. I have been using this nightly on the lips for over a week now and all I can say is "Fab"! I have found a product that has been working wonders on my lips since the first night of usage.

This has a very faint scent is natural/earthy/herby and it doesn't bother my lips in the least. It's also got no taste (big plus) and lasts all night long.. I do put a heap on my lips every night after washing up. I haven't encounter a problem with any of the skin around my lips, since this is heavy I thought I might get oily or break out. My skin is clear and not break outs. I think it I was going to beak out it would have happened by now. My lips are moist, hydrated and feel plump.. I think they really even look smoother and I am finding that my lips aren't all dried out at the end of the day..

A little trick I picked up is, buy a babies toothbrush and apply a lip treatment to the brush, rub around on the lips lightly. It's a light exfoliant.. It removes dead skin and leaves the lippies soft and smooth. I usually use Aquafor to do this but have switched and this is working really well also..

I am sorry to not put out there a complete review of all the ways this can be used.. I am dead set on this being my lippie rescue so for all the dry lips out there, this can be your saviour also! I will try to pry some out of the tub to use else where, but don't hate me if you don't hear back!
