Review- Atopalm Moisturizing Cleansing Wipes

"Atopalm Moisturizing Cleansing Wipes are the perfect way to end - or begin - each day. The wipes remove all traces of makeup, debris, excess oils, and impurities while supplying the skin with antioxidants and moisturizers. After use, the skin feels refreshed, pure, and hydrated, leaving it perfectly prepped for your next skin care step."  $12.99

You may never have heard of Atopalm, but if you have dry, sensitive skin, you should start knowing about it NOW!  This is the hero (or heroine) your skin has been waiting for.  Finally, skin technology has caught up with my wish to clean my face quickly and my skin's need for gentle non-irritating moisturizing.  This is literally the first cleansing cloth I've used in the past couple of years that hasn't stung my eye area to some degree.  Honestly I thought that was just the price one paid for using a cleansing wipe. The older I get, the more sensitive my skin gets for some reason.  I was excited to try these because Atopalm products were recommended by Dr. Leslie Baumann in her book "The Skin Type Solution", a must-read and my personal skin bible.

I love everything about these Atopalm Cleansing Wipes- they clean well, there's no tight soap after feel, they don't taste bad and they don't sting my eye area.  Oh, did I mention that they remove ALL my make-up?  These definitely go on my list of favorite things.  They're pricier than drug store wipes, but not by that much and truthfully I'd pay double for them!  Dry, sensitive girls, your quick clean prayers have been answered!

Review - Intraceuticals Clarity Gel Cleanser

A lightweight gel cleanser to thoroughly cleanse the skin and remove excess oil and impurities. The non greasy formula leaves skin conditioned and primed to receive optimum benefits from Intraceuticals Infusions® and nourishers. Also available: Clarity Gel Cleanser – Sensitive Use morning and night.

Not to be confused with the Intraceuticals Clarity Treatment Gel, this is a cleanser to be used along with Intraceuticals' other Clarity line products. The thing I first liked about this cleanser was the packaging - a clever pop-up design that means when you take this pump bottle with you on the road, you won't need to worry about spillage. It's a great cleanser, to be sure: it cleans without drying, and on my freaky combination skin, that is a huge plus. The main change I noticed was that my skin felt softer overall - not necessarily smoother, but definitely softer, possibly due to the gentle nature of the cleanser and the fact that it won't dry you out.

While increased softness might be enough for some ladies, I tend to have mild acne on my face, and while this cleanser cut down on oiliness in general, it wasn't enough to take care of my red face, unfortunately. The other downside, of course, is that the price point is not something I would personally pay for this product, regardless of the result. It's definitely an effective cleanser, but is it worth the chunk of change? For me, the answer is no.

Trish says: Yep, totally agree with what Movie Maven mentioned above. This Intraceuticals Gel Cleanser works nicely to clean the skin, leaving it feeling soft, but I didn't notice too much of a difference in my overall skin's appearance. It doesn't do anything to harm the skin which is good to know if you have sensitive skin like me, but it didn't make it look any more different either. I think if used with the Intraceutical system all together it adds to the total benefit over time, but alone, it didn't change too much for me. Also, I noticed a scent that reminded me of swimming pool, strange - on the one hand, I felt like I was on vacation swimming in the hotel pool, yet on the other hand, not sure if that is a pleasant scent without the actual swimming pool. Overall, if used with their additional line of products, it's a good complement, but by itself, nothing too harmful nor striking to make it super memorable.

Review - 3LAB Perfect Cleansing Foam

choosA daily-use scrub that cleans deep below the skin's surface, yet is gentle enough to use every day for the most sensitive skin types. Preservative-free formula cleans without irritating the skin. Mild enough to use as a daily cleanser.

Sooo.... You'll all please note that the items I have been reviewing for the last day have all come to me complements of Beauty Fix. This one, specifically, is the one you don't actually have to choose. It is their special promotion of the time. Whats better is that I am taking all of the product info off the Nordstrom website, believe me I know a lot about Nordstrom and I know that they only choose the best of the best to sell at their stores.
I will go on to say that regardless of whether or not this Cleansing Foam is $55 I will definitely be repurchasing.... for life. I have never tried anything as wonderfully cleansing without being drying or too abrasive. There are little beads of something to exfoliate a little bit. It really foams up beautifully and gets all the makeup and everything built up from the day off your face. I don't even need to use my toner after.... there is NOTHING! I am so happy with the way my face looks and feels I might be tempted to never buy any other cleanser again! (well...that's probably not true since I'm super addicted to trying new things...) Suffice it to say this cleanser is AWESOME!

Melissa says: I also received this item from Beauty Fix. Like the name says, it is perfect. Honestly, you only need a small drop to get a really nice leather to cleanse your face. So, this is going to last a long time. It does a good job cleaning and it never dries out my skin or burns. Plus, it takes off make up easily, but doesn't strip away anything else. I'm a big fan and it just feels good after you are done.

Review - Clarisonic Classic

Developed by the lead inventor of Sonicare®, CLARISONIC® uses patented sonic technology to gently yet deeply cleanse pores of environmental toxins, makeup and bacteria—without abrasion or harsh chemicals. Unlike superficial cleansing, CLARISONIC® removes greater than six times more makeup and actually increases product absorption—making skin more receptive to skincare ingredients (up to 61% in a recent clinical study). Skin is demonstrably hydrated, more even-textured and suffused with a beautiful glow.

So, here is the truth of the matter....from my perspective of course! I work at a major department store, and the Clarisonic is touted as one of the best products we carry, as it is supposed to cleanse your skin up to six times better than your normal regimen. I believed that, had been getting pimples WAY more often than ever before, and am the first to admit that some nights I just blank on washing my face. Soooo, I bought one. Yes, a little tax day present to myself, and I will tell you I do not get a lot off the $195 price tag, so this investment had been thought about ALOT. First of all I will tell you there are a number of different types you can buy: the Mia (travel) the Classic ( two speeds) and the Pro ( two speeds, and body brush). I selected the Classic, I figured that the second speed might come in handy for when my very sensitive skin got more used to the sensation, and I could not justify spending an extra $40 on having smooth elbows when I could very easily buy another washcloth.....
I will tell you the effects of this machine on my skin have been amazing! It is a "smart" machine, so basically it tells you how long you need to spend on each section of your face. For me this is perfect, I am the worst offender of rushing through something and not being able to figure out why it didn't work.... Also, the guilt of spending nearly $200 on any one thing... especially any one thing for my face... makes me feel that I have to use it every day, sometimes twice a day. The effects are wonderful. My skin is glowing, and very clean. The pores are much smaller on my cheeks and nose, and it took almost a month and a half, but the breakouts have stopped (it basically purges everything that has been building up in your skin forever, so you will notice pimples, but they clear out in close to a day so do not be alarmed when it happens.) Even my face cream is absorbed quicker, and my very sensitive skin is much less irritated now-a-days.
All in all I will tell you: I have reviewed some very pricey things on this site, none of which I paid for, and this is by far the best product I have ever used. In fact my boyfriend and his mom and I are all going to chip in for one for his sister. It is that good. It sounds like a big investment, because it is a big investment, but unlike that serum which will be gone in four months this will be around forever (you do change brushheads every four months, but I don't think they cost too much;)
