Review - Visine Total Eye Soothing Wipes

I am a big fan of eye-cleaning wipes, mostly because I tend to a) wear a lot of eye makeup and then b) not take a shower before bed and forget to take it off. At least if I have a convenient wipe, I can make an effort at being a real human who doesn't wake up the next morning with mascara crusted to her face. These Visine wipes come in a handy little tub to keep them nice and moist, and are pleasantly thick, meaning you can easily use both sides (which, when you've got a serious amount of shadow and liner on, might be necessary). The thickness does make it a bit difficult to really get in and get the lower lid liner off, but this is negligible. 

You could get a lot of the same benefits from other makeup-removal wipes, but if you have very sensitive eyes, it might be worth trying these out since they are specifically intended for use on your eyes. The drawback, of course, is that you can't really use them on the rest of your face (I tried, and it felt weird). 

Review - Eyes Off Makeup Remover

From the makers of Brush Off, Eyes Off is a gentle cleanser to remove your gunky eye makeup. Now, as I mentioned in the Brush Off review, I am very very lazy. This means that I tend to not clean my eye makeup off appropriately, which is bad because - gross. It's just gross. I don't want to be gross. Eyes Off is a liquid cleanser you put on a tissue and clean your eye with. It's...pretty straightforward. It works well, and doesn't sting or irritate at all. I found it to work better with a tissue than a cotton ball, but that's just me. Last night, I happened to be wearing some of that mascara that makes a tube around your lash, and this stuff took it right on off, easy peasy. Recommended for ladies who like the Julianne Moore in A Single Man look.

Sultana says: I usually don't like to use eye makeup remover because they burn my eyes. This remover is very gentle. Its gentle enough that it doesn't burn, but at the same time it does a good job of getting rid of your eye makeup. I wear a lot of mascara and eyeshadow and this got it off in no time.

I'm a pretty lazy girl when it comes to beauty, so usually when I'm washing my face, I just use a little extra elbow grease around my eyes. However this usually doesn't work very well, and I end up with a little bit of leftover mascara or liner on or underneath my eyes. Most eye makeup removers irritate my eyes, so I've never made using them a habit. However Talika's Lash Conditioning Cleanser is amazing! Just one pump on a cotton ball and even your smokiest eye makeup is history. No scrubbing your lids till your eyelashes begin to shed, or waking up with raccoon eyes from the leftover makeup. I'm really glad I added this extra step to my beauty routine, and will try to make using it a regular habit!

After trying out the DDF sensitive skin products I figured, would I luck out and get a few good cleansers or was I in for trouble this time? In this kit there is a cleanser, eye make up remover, sensitive skin lotion, and sensitive skin cream. So, I admit it. I guinea pigged my friend with this kit first, and had her try it out twice. I figure, her skin gets red and sensitive too and why not see how the both of us react to it? Well... apparently she just went and BOUGHT one of these kits, so that should tell you something. I think this whole line of products is really great. I really have a bad routine set up when I'm traveling, I constantly forget things and end up making due. That translates to my skin suffering miserably until I get home, look in the mirror, and get a look of shock and horror on my face. But this weekend when I travel to Massachusetts, I'll be taking this with me and I'll come back to New York feeling nice and pretty like when I left.

The claims are true: this product is gentle and it does work to remove your eye makeup. My main issue with it is that it seems more like an oil than anything else, and it leaves oil on your face, which for those of us with naturally overactive sebaceous glands, is not acceptable. I feel like I have to wipe with all my strength in order to remove all traces of this removes, and even then, it's a battle. Perhaps for someone with drier skin than mine would find what I consider to be a flaw to be a benefit, since the product works fine otherwise, but this girl says: no thanks.
