Review- Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Truly Translucent Loose Powder

Although the packaging is pretty simple, I really do like this translucent powder from Sally Hansen's Natural Beauty line. I tried the loose powder for Light/Medium types and it provided just the right amount of coverage in a well-matched shade for me. (I am more on the medium side, but this worked). Usually I skip heavy liquid foundations when I'm out running errands, but I do resort to a minimal and light mineral foundation powder to get me through the day. I'm finding that this loose powder alone provides just as good coverage as any mineral foundation and I'm loving how soft and smooth my skin appears. I also like the thick sponge as I noticed it absorbs and sets the powder into the skin easily. With ingredients such as pomegranate and papaya extracts, as well as bamboo powder and antioxidants, it's no wonder my skin felt lighter, as well as well-nourished, while wearing this powder. My skin can get oily sometimes and I found that this powder thoroughly absorbed excessive shininess, while also providing a smooth surface. For everyday wear, this Sally Hansen Natural Beauty powder held up!

I tried this powder in Warmth, a flattering blend of peach and gold that blended beautifully with my skin tone. My skin is pretty normal, with some oily patches in my T-zone, and this powder kept those areas shine free, and matte, but still gave my entire face a natural, healthy glow. If you're of a fair complexion you may want to opt for the translucent version, since I'm not sure the color of this powder will agree with you. Overall this mineral powder sets your makeup beautifully, giving the skin almost an air-brushed effect, while still feeling incredibly light. I've never used mineral makeup before, but I think I'll be making a permanent switch!

I'm not really a powder girl, just way too lazy to bother with the extra step, and don't get sweaty enough to really need it. However it was quite a pleasure using CLEAN's Body Veil powder. The powder itself is light and fluffy, and blends in easily so you don't end up looking like you just forgot to put lotion on that morning. The scent is fresh and light, and doesn't compete with your perfume, just leaves your skin nice and fresh all day. This product is a must for ladies who get a bit sweaty on a regular basis, but it will make a nice addition to anyone's beauty regimen.

I'm completely head-over-heels in love with this Face Stockholm Eye Dust! I tried the the loose shimmering powder in a shade called "Loving" (not pictured here), which is a warm and gorgeous sunset pink. They also have a wide variety of other colors to choose from as well. As described, the sparkling powder comes in a fine, loose powder, which is delicate and soft in nature, yet still nicely pigmented and highly sophisticated. I wore it alone on my eyelids for a subtle effect, as well as building it on top of my golden-colored eye shadow, which really brought out the color of my brown eyes. As a note: wearing this shade by itself leaned on the light side next to my medium-toned skin. However, this powder is so versatile, I also used to it highlight my cheekbones by adding it on top of my blush, as well as applying it over my lipstick to create the perfect pout. It works wonderfully well making my lips look so much fuller and had a gorgeous shimmering effect as well. The best part about the Eye Dust is that not only is it versatile and blendable in every imaginable way, but also the quality of the powder is so amazing that everything it touches automatically looks more alluring and classier at the same time. Really, you can't go wrong, as this fine powder delivers instant high glamour in so many countless ways!

Review- Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Loose Color Pigments

This stuff is awesome!!! I tried it in Flicker, a pale peachy shade and it left a gorgeous shimmer anywhere you apply it. You can use it pretty much anywhere you can think of and it will always look amazing. I dusted it on my eyelids with an eyeshadow brush for a simple casual shimmer that stayed put all day. You can also use a moist eyeliner brush to line your eyes with the shimmery powder for a bold evening look. This shade is also really flattering as a highlighter for brows and cheekbones. Since we are in the season of bare legs and shoulders, this product does an awesome job adding instant glamour to other exposed body parts. Dust it across your shoulders, collarbone and decolletage with a fluffy brush or blend it with your fave lotion to make your own shimmery body cream. It looks super sexy when applied just to the front part of your legs, and really helps elongate them too. And with 25 colors to choose from at only $10 a pop, you can choose your perfect shade or collect a few!

Sultana says: I have this color in 'Glisten'. I tried this on with and without eyeshadow primer. The day I used it without, it lasted pretty long. The color is a beautiful shimmery, peachy golden color. When I used it along with the OCC Primer, it lasted until I got home from work! It also enhanced the shade a little. This is a color that is simple enough for work but if worn a little more dramatically, can be used for going out as well. I have been wearing it almost everyday and I am very happy with it.

I have this in translucent since I am fair. It's so finely milled, it feels like it evaporates into my skin upon application. It's got a light shimmer to it so I don't feel like I am a dancing queen during the day. I think it adds a light reflecting quality and does in fact brighten up my complexion. My skin has been taking a beating this winter, it's been dry so I have been relying on skincare products to get me through (thank goodness for Beautifile!) I have been using this for 2 weeks and will totally use this till I have none left. The packaging does look pretty but isn't really practical. It's hard to explain - you shake it then turn the lid and a small section is open, its very easy to spill and for $49.00 I don't want to loose a single particle. I have made a mess of it so I am super careful with it and keep it on my dresser, this can't go in the train case, it does spill out even when closed. I can recommend on the quality of the minerals and their ability to brighten my skin but don't like the container, it looks cool but is useless!

Review - Make UP For Ever HD Microfinish Powder

This could be the best $30 I have spent in a long time, I have been hearing and reading the hype about this powder so I HAD to get some. Since this is silica powder, to the touch it feels different than anything else I have used, it's so light, you will be shocked. This goes on so light and sheerly that you won’t feel a thing but you will see the results. I get a wonderful finish that doesn’t look powdery or over-matte. My skin is matte and but it’s natural looking, this is not a china doll matte but a matte that blends with my complexion. I find that it helps in hiding the imperfections with a gentle glide of my kabuki brush. I will tell you that the container is small but you will only need to apply in small doses. For me, I wear sunscreen daily, I know I am protecting myself but the one and only downfall is that my skin can look oily, even though I wear oil-free sunscreen. This quickly remedies the situation and it lasts through the day. I am not popping into the loo for oil control & dabbing my face with more powder. This is also GREAT for the summer, it’s hot out there but you don’t have to look overheated. I am sensitive & haven't experienced any reaction, it’s very gentle...

It's milled to such a fine powder it isn't cakey or sit on the skin - to me it feels like it melts into the skin which makes the powder a part of the finish. There is nothing powdery about this powder. I use the smallest amound and press it into the skin in a rolling motion; by doing it this way, I get no dusty look. It's got a light scent but nothing my sensitive skin can't handle. I have the banana color which is a light yellow to balance the rosy cheeks I get. I can see its yellow in the container, but once it touches my skin it disappears and blends in pefectly. I love it and the container is super cute to, reminiscent of a time gone by. I have been using this for a long time. I do like mineral veils also, so sometimes, I dust a teeny bit of veil over trying to get that air brushed look.
