Review- Urban Cowgirl Mineral Concealer/Foundation

Creamy application with sweep of the finger tip or applicator sponge … goes on lightly. $14.99

I don't know about you, but with each change of the season, my skin seems to act up like some wild teenager on a mission. With allergies in full swing, I'm also finding new bags under my eyes each morning and random breakouts from switching to heavier creams and moisturizers. Thank goodness for Urban Cowgirl's Mineral Concealer/Foundation, it truly works to hide those extra baggage under the eyes and a quick spot treatment over smaller breakouts too. I'm so impressed that something this lightweight and smooth can so brilliantly conceal and balance out even the most stubborn of spots. Apparently this Urban Cowgirl concealer can double up as a light foundation as well and still provide full and complete coverage. Normally I would wear foundation during the day to cover up some of these dark spots sprouting up, but I soon realized with a loose dusting of powder and this surprisingly strong and effective concealer, I didn't need to add any more products on top. If you have a few dark spots, or circles too, and need some real, true coverage (without resorting to wearing heavy foundation), this concealer completely does the trick.

Review- KohGenDo Moisture Concealer for Professional

New moisture concealer with a perfect texture for application and a gentle formulation for your skin that includes pearl powders for great coverage, a soft texture that allows easy application and ingredients that are gentle to your skin. Refresh your skin with a new sheer feel and natural look. Cover your areas like a pro! Gentle moisturizing botanical ingredients take care of areas prone to dryness, such as under the eyes, where concealers are usually most needed.
The compact also contains extra room to mix the two concealer tones in order to create the perfect shade for you. $48 for .14 oz

You know how a good concealer is second only to a good pair of jeans? I mean I have gone through so many brands, consistencies and styles of applicator (pencil, tube with sponge wand, synthetic-haired brush) ending up looking behind at a well-traveled road littered with dashed hopes and deflated possibilities. It wasn't until I became a makeup artist that I finally realized that creme concealers are the way to go no matter what (with the exception of the elite Alison Raffaele True Concealer but that's another story altogether). KohGenDo has clearly embraced this formulation, too. Not only that, but they are professional enough to allow someone the chance to conceal dark circles (lighter than skin tone) AND blemishes/discolorations (darker than skin tone). I guess that's all to be expected when they boast that the result of using this concealer could previously only be achieved by sitting in a makeup artist's chair. So we've covered the "professional" part of the name, let's touch on the "moisture" thing. This stuff is moisturizing not in that greasy, slippery way but in that luscious, good-for-your-skin way. For instance, there's shea butter in it. It doesn't get shiny or fall into creases throughout the day and only needs your usual setting powder applied after you put it on to keep it working well. Can you tell that I highly reco this product? Particularly if you feel the same way about the value of an impeccable concealer.

Trish says: I really love this concealer! It does feel like you're using a product that is very professional grade and performs just as well as any expert's tool would! The best part (besides working better than most concealers available) is that typical concealers usually make my skin look ashy or the spot I'm trying to conceal ends up looking a lot more obvious, but with the KohGenDo concealer, it blended so well that it really did conceal and smoothen at the same time. It's a great tool to have and with such a fine, silky finish, I'm not so worried about needing to use concealer anymore- because it really works that well and makes the spot not only disappear, but also look seamless. This stuff really rocks!

Right around the time I read great things about this Japanese line, this product popped up in my bag to review--what good fortune! It's professional, practical and incredibly good at what it does. The yellow warms up skin complexions while softening red and blue discolorations. I tried it as the site suggests, before foundation as a layer to make the face a more even canvas but had even more luck adding a few drops to a creme and liquid foundation, respectively. (I work with both in my job). I wouldn't hesitate to stipple some into the skin if i had gone too pink with a foundation skin tone match on someone, as well. Basically, this product is awesome, multi-purpose and the quality of it is up there with any other professional line I have used.

Review- Three Custom Color Specialists Professional Concealer Palette

"Our versatile Creme Concealer formula can be used in isolated areas to conceal or all over the face as a foundation or face tint. Design the perfect shade for any skin tone and then use the lighter shades to highlight and darker shades to contour." 10 colors for $58

I love this palette! With it I can create the correct shade of concealer or foundation for almost anyone. When I first got this, I decided to do a little experiment. I wanted to see if this makeup would look as good at both the beginning and end of the evening on myself and my 70 year old mother. The application is a breeze. I used a foundation brush and I could paint on more where more coverage was needed and less... well you get the picture. I was struck by how little concealer was required to do a whole face. This stuff spreads like a dream. Looking at it in the palette you would think it had a thick dense consistency, but once you start using it you realize it is only dense in pigment. It feels weightless on and it didn't settle into any of my mother's wrinkles (she's 70, she knows she has wrinkles!). It gave a slightly dewier finish than I like, so I set it with powder. I'm pleased to report that both my mother and I still had full faces of makeup after an evening at the Atlantic City casinos. I was really impressed with the staying power of this multi-function cream. This is already a staple in my professional makeup kit. It takes half the guesswork out of applying foundation because for some reason, the shades are universally flattering. You can also buy the individual colors in compacts for $22.50 or in 3 shade trios (with larger amounts of color) for $67.50. The trio has individual refills available for $17.50. I recommend this palette to any professional makeup artist as it is an ultimately portable way to have hundreds of possible colors at your fingertips. Plus you save by having your concealer and foundation in one.

Review- Neutrogena 3 in 1 Concealer for Eyes

This concealer has 3x the benefits. It combats fine lines and puffiness, it conceals flawlessly and it has SPF 20 sunscreen. $9.79

This is an all around great product! In addition to being a great medium-full coverage under eye concealer (although I use it all over my face), it has my beloved sunscreen. I often have vaguely dark circles under my eyes due to allergies. This makes my eyes look bright and alert. It also acts like an eye cream, firming and treating the delicate area around the eye. It comes in 4 shades, although I can't for the life of me imagine who wears the lightest shade as I am the palest of the pale & I wear the 2nd shade. In my opinion, you can never have enough sunscreen on your face, and this gentle option for around the eyes is the perfect complement to the SPF I already wear. As you can tell, I highly recommend this product. : )!

Sheba says:

Gee, I think Hillary likes it. No surprise, I have also used this concealer and it is definitely a keeper. I have it in the lightest and the 2nd lightest. Love both. I used to have pale, pale skin until I just about ruined it with the sun. My complexion actually got a shade or two darker after my years of sun abuse. Pretty soon I expect my face to be one giant sun spot!! I would never have suspected that the sun could do as much damage as it did. Anyway, I love my concealer for under the eye darkness and when it is especially dark -- I use the light. It definitely helps camouflage the dark areas along with all the other little problems that I need to hide. It is so nice that it has the sun protection -- but fear not, I put my makeup over it and that also has sun protection. After years of being a dummy, I finally smartened up. Can't get enough of that sun protection now. This concealer seems to really help brighten up the eye area and make the eyes pop a little more than without it. Neutrogena has an excellent reputation in the skin care line and if you use their products you will see why. No, I do not work for them -- I am just one very happy and satisfied customer.

Review - Physicians Formula: Powder Finish Concealer Stick (SPF 15)

Oil-free formula.
Yellow hides dark under eye circles and other bluish skin discolorations.
Green hides scars, birthmarks, blemishes and other red discolorations.
Light covers any minor skin imperfections.
Protects sun-sensitive skin (SPF 15).

Of course we'd all like to never break out or have to use a concealer for anything on our faces, but this isn't a perfect world. This is the best cover up concealer I have ever used, as someone that gets red marks from blemishes that can last for weeks, over foundation or even just powder, this concealer (i use the green and/or the regular light) it lasts all day, doesn't wear off or rub off, and is a must have in my purse everywhere I go. The additional sunblock helps prevent the sun damage on a blemish that can make them ten times worse and can make them last longer. I absolutely require having this product and would recommend to anyone dissatisfied with their own concealer or cover up to give it a try.

Sheba says:

This is definitely one of the best concealer/corrector products I use. I also use the green and the regular concealer. The green does help mask those aggravating red marks I get while the regular concealer helps to disguise dark under eye problems. They recommend the yellow for under eye circles but I am only too happy with the job the regular concealer does. These products are a real Heaven-send to hide such problems. You can find them just about anywhere and there are frequent sales. I have found coupons in the newspaper for them and if you combine them with sales, you have yourself a great deal. Even the regular price is a very decent one. . . however, check for the sales first.

Review - Lueur Jeune Fixy-Stix Concealer & Corrector

These rich cream-to-powder formulas work with your skin, blending flawlessly to correct and conceal any imperfection without settling into fine lines or leaving an unnatural glow. Fixy-Stix™ are also good for your skin - made with emollients like olive squalane and infused with extracts of calendula and mineral-rich orchids - well known for not only their moisturizing properties, but also fighting free radicals and reducing the appearance of fine lines. Hide and conceal every flaw with Fixy-Stix™! -- $6.95

Hahahaha -- if I was going to hide and conceal every flaw on my face -- I would need a gallon can of this concealer!! Seriously, I do have many little and big things to conceal and this concealer and corrector does the job. It applies so easily as it is very creamy and just changes over to powder. It does hide the problem areas very well and then I simply apply my make up over it and it does not show through like many concealers do. Many times you will see someone with makeup and they look like a reverse racoon. Their eyes have very light circles around them as their make up did not quite cover the concealer. This works wonderfully and when you are finished -- you appear flawless!! The price is very reasonable for the job it does. I have had excellent experience with this brand and definitely recommend it.

Review - Saphoros Spa Champagne Corrector

Gives any skin tone a "soft-focus" appearance, and also brings darker skin tones a subtle glow (not glimmer). Contains 22.3% Titanium Dioxide.

10 Gram $9.00 5 Gram Sample

This really does do the trick. I have experienced that look you get when you can see the concealer through your makeup and it looks like you have lighter makeup around your eyes. This is NOT the look I want. This concealer goes on very easily with the brush. You need to dip the brush in a tiny amount and apply to under eye circles and any other areas that might need a touch up. Then you apply your mineral make up over the concealer and to the rest of the face. It covers the concealer without giving you a heavy made up look. It does not blend in with the concealer and change the make up shade. It does what it claims to do. It conceals what you are concealing. Actually it gives you a very natural look that definitely enhances problem areas such as the dark circles. I wonder where this had been all my life. It is a face saver!! This is available in a sample size so that you can try it before buying the full size.
