Review- Prive Concept Verte Shampoo and Conditioner Travel Kit

Concept Vert products themselves are eco-friendly. The sulfate and paraben free product is enriched with pure organic extracts including Amazon Açaí and Babassu Oil to rejuvenate the hair with antioxidants and strengtheners as it gently nourishes and cleanses. Privé's Concept Vert Shampoo and Conditioner have also undergone color testing and have proven to preserve color-treated hair up to 44% with use. Unlike many commercial hair cleansers and conditioners, these products do not contain commonly used artificial ingredients such as sulfates, gluten, phthalates, DEA, TEA, mineral oil, paraffin, PABA, paraben, or artificial coloring.Anyone that reads this blog regularly knows there is a special place in our hearts for eco-friendly products.  I, personally, also have a special love for Prive Haircare, thanks to the combination of their wonderful performance and "green"-ness.  The geniuses at Prive have  now made your travel case a little more green as they've launched- get this- travel versions of  Prive Concept Vert Shampoo and Conditioner that one fills oneself from the full sized canister. "Big whoop," you're thinking. Oh but there is whoop! Concept Vert comes in pressurized (in an Earth friendly way) containers that dispense the product as a gel (sort of like a shave gel) that expands when you rub your hands together. Another bonus, you only need to use a little to do even long hair.

With this travel set you get a full sized container of shampoo and one of conditioner as well as (2) travel sized empty containers and a tool which allows you to fill the travel sizes from the full sizes. So along with all of the benefits I've already listed, you can also carry enough shampoo and conditioner in your airline-approved quart sized bag to last you for at least a month even if you wash your hair every other day. The travel sized containers can be used again and again and when your full sizes are empty, send/bring them back to Prive Salon or their PR firm and they will use them to make new bottles. They recycle the whole bottle, so nothing goes to waste. I'm keeping the travel bottles in my shower for the sake of space, but you can bet money on the fact they'll be coming with me on many trips to come!

Review - Liz Earle Botanical Shine Conditioner for Oily Hair

With black cohosh, yangu oil, blue seakale and shine-boosting apple and orange extracts, our ultra-light, finely balanced colour safe conditioner leaves oily, dull, limp or lifeless hair shiny, volumised and full of life.

I very rarely use conditioner. A hairdresser once told me I didn't need to, since I have short, fine, relatively oily hair, and from then on I was like "HAHA SUCKERS NO CONDITIONER FOR ME!!!" But I do like the idea of moisturizing one's hair so that it looks shiny and beautiful like Penelope Cruz's, the goal of course being to snag a babydaddy as sexy as hers. So I was excited to try this conditioner, the first one I'd used in a long time. The best thing about this conditioner is the lightness of it - it's creamy without being heavy, and rinses out easily.

My hair wasn't noticeably shinier after just one use, but it was definitely softer, and I didn't feel like it was weighed down like I normally do after using conditioner. If you're a conditioner-phobe like me, this is one to try, especially in the dry winter months.

Deedlejuse Says: So I am an avid onditioner user, with long processed blond hair that needs A LOT of lovin'. With that being said, I will tell you this really is a good conditioner, it just wasn't blow your mind amazing. I feel like my hair should be shiny and wonderful instantly if I am going to spend $14.50 for 6.7 oz. Don't get me wrong, I love love the idea of all that Liz Earle has to offer, and the natural ingredients she puts into them, but I found I needed just a bit more moisture. If you don't have blond processed hair I am positive you will love this conditioner, but for me I have found better.

Review- Rusk Sensories Wellness Bedew Conditioner with Exotic Organic Tahitian Oil

Conditions while intensely hydrating and moisturizing coarse, dry hair. Features a silicone combination for easy wet combing. Sodium PCA (a natural hydrator found in the skin) binds moisture to the hair for extra humectant power.Free of sulfates, parabens, petrochemicals, phthalates and MEA/TEA/DEA, Sensories Wellness provides a color-safe, organic and luxurious haircare experience. $15 for 13.5 oz.

Basically, this line of Rusk's smells ridiculously amazing. I am not one to seek out the whole "essential oils for sensory wellness" but I now think that's because I had not yet come across a product that lays claim to a cocktail of freaking Tahitian tiare flower, the Moroccan argan tree and Ethiopian abyssinica. If that weren't enough, "the bedew" as it's called around here is a supremely effective conditioner that loves every strand of your hair to a silken shiny divine work of art.

Malikah says: I'm always looking for a hydrating conditioner for my chemically processed locks, and Rusk's Bedew Conditioner does the job beautifully. After leaving the creamy formula on for just 5 minutes, my hair was soft and glossy, and I was able to comb it out with no stubborn tangles. I was a bit wary of the silicone combination in the formula, because some of those products can dull your hair, but this stuff left my hair super soft and shiny for days.

Review- Curlisto Bio Curl Conditioner

This deep moisturizing conditioner is specifically formulated for dry, chemically treated or damaged hair. Vitamins A and E moisturize and strengthen. Proteins leave hair soft, frizz free and tangle free. Gentle enough to be used daily. $14 for 4 oz.

Curlisto is one class act. I have made this opinion known through all of my reviews of their products so far because when a company authentically values its products and thus us, its consumer, it bears recognition. The Bio Curl Conditioner compliments the shampoo of the same name with its scent, performance and specialness. The jojoba oil topnote transported me back in time somewhere to my youth when I used a product with the same light fresh scent. I wasn't blown away by any new or evolved way in which my hair was conditioned, per se, but my experiences have been more than pleasant so far. One more thing, going back to my Seventeen magazine days, I would pour over the beauty tips like they were the secrets to the universe and I'll never forget a famous stylist at the time referencing stearalkonium chloride as a "must" ingredient in one's conditioner. I haven't seen it in a million years in something until now...!

Malikah Says:
This conditioner boasts amazing moisturizing properties that leave hair soft, supple, and tangle free. The directions say to leave it on for 3 minutes then rinse, but I let it sit for about 15 for extra conditioning. My hair came out incredibly soft and shiny, and the fragrance was superb! The conditioner is fortified with Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein which retains moisture and prevents dryness, hydrolyzed soy protein which repairs and strengthens hair shaft and Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract which hydrates dry hair and scalp. Curlisto Bio Curl conditioner is perfect for anyone concerned about dry, damaged hair and breakage.

Review- John Frieda Curl Around Conditioner

Developed for wavy, curly, frizz-prone hair. Reawakens, energizes and defines your natural curl patterns for soft, smooth curls with lasting curl definition. Specially developed with a curl-enhancing complex, hydrating conditioners and frizz-fighting silicone. Features a nourishing formula that locks in moisture for well-defined, salon-style spirals that resist frizz in any weather. Curls look silky-smooth and glossy from root to tip. Gentle enough for everyday use. Safe for color-treated hair. $5.99 for 10 fl. oz.

This conditioner smells vaguely like cotton candy. It's formulated for curly hair but I think that anyone could benefit from smelling like the best part of a carnival, you know? Anyway, it didn't do anything remarkable and I feel that way about the shampoo, too, but it is a steady and reliable conditioner that smoothes and softens as well as anything else. I have one small bone to pick with the write-up on the website though. It states that it resists frizz in any weather, and this is true in my experience even with the "weather works" products, but I haven't seen this promise manifest.

Oh Garnier, you smell sublime. And not just in the shower but after my hair dried and even a day later. I hear my stylist in my ear whispering a reminder that shampoo and conditioner can be purchased at the any price point and be fabulous.

Review- Arrojo Daily Shampoo and Conditioner

OUR ANTI-OXIDIZING VITAMIN RICH CLEANSER IS LIGHTLY SCENTED WITH ORGANIC RHUBARB EXTRACTS. KEEPS HAIR CLEAN, BALANCED AND REFRESHED. GENTLE ENOUGH FOR DAILY USE WITHOUT THE BUILD-UP OF HARSH IRRITANTS OR RESIDUE.

Earlier, we tried and reviewed Arrojo's Moisturizing and Color Save Shampoo and Conditioners, now in this third installment of the Daily Shampoo and Conditioner set, all I can say is that I really, really love this brand! My hair has never looked so full and lavish and have felt this clean in a while! (And I have tried everything under the moon from regular drug-store brands to expensive salon lines.) The Daily Shampoo and Conditioner line delivers a very clean wash with zero build up, in a lightweight formula, leaving my hair looking its very best. Although, on the downside, the basic daily conditioner - while super gentle and light on the hair - does not moisturize or detangle as much as I normally prefer. As a test I went back to my normal moisturizing conditioner, but noticed my old brand weighed much heavier on my hair than Arrojo's daily conditioner, so I quickly switched back to the Arrojo line. However, the daily shampoo works wonders on my hair! (If you have thin or fine hair, you definitely understand how less is more and every bit of a lift helps!) I have a feeling I'm going to stick to this product for a while because it really works! Almost everyday is a good hair day! As for the daily conditioner, currently I have to make up for the lack of silkiness by using an additional hair serum on top. Otherwise, my hair turns super dry and frizzy on its own! So while lightweight, the daily conditioner could use a little more moisturizing and silkening. I may have to mix up the Arrojo daily shampoo with their moisturizing conditioner, because when this combination works, it truly works!

Review- Arrojo Color Save Conditioner

Formulated with Vitamin B5 and an advanced Moisture-Plex formula, Repair Masque de-stresses dehydrated locks with Coconut Oil, while hydrating and smoothing the cuticle with Silk Amino Acids and Hydrolyzed Oat Proteins. Perfect to restore vitality and make styling easy.

I felt that I needed to review the Arrojo Color Save Shampoo and Conditioner separately since I found one very helpful and the other quite the opposite. If you noticed my post yesterday, you will be able to tell the product that looses out of these two! I literally had to stop using this conditioner because not only did I need to use almost half the container for one use, but it left my hair straw-like and not conditioned at all. If I hadn't been sent the Arrojo Detangling Foam I would have cried after the first use! If you use the three (Shampoo, Conditioner, & Foam) products together you will be MUCH happier with the end result All in all though, I found cutting the Conditioner out of my routine was best for me. I do have chemically processed bleach blond hair, which needs like a ton (seriously) of moisture for it to even think about brushing, so for those of you who have shorter/darker hair you might be happier with this product.

Review- Privé Concept Vert Rejuvenating Shampoo & Conditioner

Now you don't have to sacrifice quality, performance or results in order to do your part for the planet. Introducing the revolutionary eco-design of Privé Concept Vert Rejuvenating Pure Shampoo and Conditioner, developed with Thoughtful Planet Technologies, for a product that is planet friendly in every possible way. With our color safe formulas, there are no trade-offs, just gloriously replenished and strengthened youthful hair, full of healthy body and luminous shine. For a list of salons near you that carry Concept Vert, please visit Priveproducts.com (link above) and click on "Contact Us". Make sure that the salon has a little CV next to it to insure they carry this particular line. Shampoo $28, Conditioner $30

We get to try a lot of products around here, but every once in a while we get to test something that becomes something people refer to as an HG (Holy Grail) product. This shampoo and conditioner have definitely attained Holy Grail status for me. I was in love with the concept before I even saw the shampoo and conditioner. The packaging isn't merely recyclable, you can actually bring it back to the salon you got it from, they send it back to the manufacturer who santizes and refills it so it can go back to the salon and start it's life cycle all over again. No waste whatsoever! That fact alone had an eco-nut like myself chomping at the bit to try them. Well now I've tried them and in addition to being eco-friendly, the products inside the bottles are wonderful. I'm not even being biased because of the recycling factor. They are in pump bottles that release the shampoo and conditioner as thick foams. You only have to press the pump for a second to do your whole head (and I have long hair). The smell is so good that if they came out with a perfume of it, I would buy it. And here are some other wonderful features:
  • They are Sulfate and Paraben free (also free of a lot of other things you don't want in your haircare, but it's too long to list)
  • They are good for both dry and oily scalps (my hair is dry and they conditioned my hair perfectly)
  • The 6.7 Fl. Oz. Bottle yields as much as a 13 Oz. bottle of regular shampoo, saving on transportation emissions due to it's smaller size. Just for reference, most of the salon brand shampoos and conditioners I have in my shower are 8 Fl. Oz.

I could go on and on about this wonderful combo. It lathers well, your hair feels really clean when you wash it (without being a tangled mess) and then it feels fully conditioned and detangled once you've done the second step. I will definitely be buying this shampoo and conditioner again and again and I can't wait to see what they release next in this innovative line. It may seem a little pricey, but considering the amount you have to use, I'd say that these bottles will last me twice as long as most of my other salon haircare. And yes, I will definitely be bringing my bottles back to the salon for re-use. Every little bit helps!

Review - Aveda Color Conserve Shampoo & Conditioner

Extend the vibrance of color-treated hair $15.00 ea.
.
I have been color treating my doo since the turn of the century. OMG, I can’t believe I am writing that! LOL! I have always used products for color and find that when you are spending upwards of $200 for a foil that it’s well worth the investment! These are 2 amazingly gentle products that I have about run out of. First off the scent is a deliciously light herbal blend that smells dreamy in the steamy shower! Secondly, I am not sure you can get a more gently product--seriously these are like using baby hair care products. Thirdly, they work, I started using on the tail end of my color right through a new one and found that they work in helping to prevent fading and boost my hair’s natural shine and I think even added some strength. The shampoo is light and has a nice frothy lather that rinses away quickly. The conditioner is light weight but penetrates my hair and give it a nice soft texture that is snaggle free. I really like these and recommend investing in the liter sized containers. Also, when using this, I have been using this straight not switching around which I frequently do. There is no buildup and my hair looks soft smooth and hydrated! Also big props to Anna for the image! :) Thank you!
.
Maria says: I have to agree with CitySlicker on these two truly fab products. I am a Pureology junkie and have used that line for longer than I can remember and very rarely switch -- and when I have, I always return. With these two products, I find myself reaching for them more often than not and def. more often than my beloved Pureology of late. I think they impart a real shine to my oft foiled hair - neither product weighs my hair down either. You just get the feeling that you're really cleansing your hair but not stripping it. They have a no nonsense scent to them - nothing froofy or sweet - rather just a clean herbal fragrance - almost organic. They are gentle but effective. When you've colored your hair for as long as I have - that's exactly what you're looking for! Although I have quite a bit left of the conditioner as I find I need so little, I am nearly out of the shampoo which says ALOT! I am so pleasantly surprised by these and so happy that they work as well as they do for MY doo!!!!

Review - Aveda Damage Remedy Shampoo and Conditioner

" Our gentle daily shampoo helps repair damage with quinoa protein, while nurturing with rich coconut and babassu—lending new life to hair. Our daily conditioning formula with quinoa protein helps repair and re-moisturize damaged hair—infusing it anew with healthy movement, silkiness and shine. " Shampoo 8.5 fl. oz. $24, Conditioner 6.7 fl. oz. $24

I am reviewing this awesome Aveda Damage Remedy Shampoo & Conditioner together only because I truthfully believe they should be used together. And, yeah I get it, spending close to $50 on your shampoo and conditioner seems completely unrealistic, but I am telling you it is so good that it is totally worth it! You probably won't need to use it very often, I had pretty damaged hair, box blond dye, I wear it up a lot, and I occasionally blow dry. So yeah the basic prescription for super-damaged hair. This shampoo and conditioner is like miracle serum. My hair is so incredibly healthy shiny and bright that I hardly recognize it. I haven't had to use any special conditioning masks or anything since the first week of use. Now, by the fourth I am just completely in love. It doesn't tangle as easily, stays straighter without any help from me. I am completely sold, without any hesitation. I will repurchase in a heartbeat, but I probably won't need to soon!

Amanda S. Says: Oh Aveda, how do I love thee? My world in the past few weeks has been this: me trying to look out at the world with a straight face through a frazzled rat's nest of a hairdo. You see, I am trying to go with the times and be a little less strict in my hair care. I recently made a bet that I wouldn't cut my hair at all for a year, so I stopped ironing and straight up beating my hair into a straight line, and instead I have been trying to laminate it with various products, continue dying it, and leave the rest up to the gods. What this has done was made me realize the importance of not using a cheapo conditioner and shampoo. Even though I only actually wash my hair once or twice a week, even this fried my head and dried out my scalp horribly. I regret the terrible mistakes I have made recently, and am so glad Aveda exists. These two products, in a week, turned my hair from a place for squirrels to hide into a nice wavy sleek looking hairdo. They smell great and a little goes a long way. That's why I always love Aveda.

Hillary says: Last year I got a 3-use sample of this shampoo and conditioner that I used once and promptly left at a hotel. We were almost out of Montreal on our way home when I realized I'd left them and I was "this close" to making my husband bring me back to the hotel to retrieve them. It's just that good. It makes my hair look amazing and silky and the smell is divine although I can't really put my finger on what it smells like. It smells clean- yes- but I would swear it has a hint of black pepper to it. That may sound weird, but I am really digging it. My husband also commented how good it smelled. Now for the down side, the price. The shampoo and conditioner are $24 each. Ordinarily that would completely turn me off a product, but I know what care and quality ingredients go into Aveda products and I'm willing to pay extra for a product that delivers on it's promises and this duo does. I'm also willing to pay extra for Aveda products in general because of their strict environmental policies. For example, their factories are run by clean wind power. Another impressive initiative they have started is their bottle caps recycling program. I participate and it only takes a trip to your local Aveda every couple of months to keep all the plastic from bottle caps and shampoo tops out of landfills. If you are interested, there is more information
here. It's a really great program and I feel the extra few dollars I spend for Aveda products are worth my peace of mind.

Review - Aveda Rosemary Mint Shampoo and Conditioner

This unique daily shampoo adds body to fine hair—without stripping, build-up or static electricity. Formulated with peppermint to awaken your senses and rosemary to help protect from environmental damage. Its pure plant aroma naturally energizes and motivates your mind and body.

This daily conditioner adds weightless body and shine while preventing tangles and static. The tonic properties of rosemary and peppermint cool and revitalize your scalp.

Movie Maven says:

I just want to keep smelling this shampoo and conditioner forever. It smells so good, like a minty forest. I love using it just for the smell. Aveda knows what they're doing when it comes to delicious-smelling products, and this Rosemary-Mint Shampoo and Conditioner are no exception. As far as function...well, that remains to be seen. While I love Aveda overall, I don't think this shampoo is quite what my hair needs. While I love the invigorating feeling it gives my scalp, and how my hair looks after it's just been washed, my hair seems to be going limp a lot faster with this shampoo than with some others I've used. That said, however, I have a freakishly oily scalp and absolutely must wash my hair every day to prevent me from looking like a recently-arrested celebrity mugshot (Nick Nolte comes to mind). So because this shampoo is recommended for "fine to normal" hair as opposed to "oily," I may not be the target audience. The same goes for the conditioner - I don't use conditioner at all because of my overactive sebaceous glands, so I told my roommates to feel free to use it. They freaked. I'm taking that as a good sign. I did use it once for review purposes, and it smells just as glorious as the shampoo. So if you like natural things and have fine to normal hair (or roommates who do) - check this out!

Sheba says: Wow, these are really refreshing products to use. They feel so good as you are using them and they work!! Yes, I do notice a bit more texture and the appearance of more body to my fine hair. I usually wash my hair every other day as the day's accumulation of everything gives it a bit of uuumpph for the second day -- but after that I get the Nick Nolte look, myself. When using the shampoo I thought -- gee, it even feels like it is cleaning my hair so well!! To get the extra body is a real bonus. I did notice the static free condition of my hair also. Aveda Rosemary Mint Shampoo and Conditioner are two hard working, terrific smelling products! Like Movie Maven said check them out, especially if you love natural products. Your hair will be glad you did!!

Review - Biosilk Smoothing Shampoo & Conditioner

Vitamin B and humectants to moisturize and smooth frizz prone hair. Contains silk proteins to condition the hair shaft and leave hair shiny and healthy.

In the humid months, I have a terrible time with frizzed out hair. It's been raining pretty steadily here in New York City for the past week, and my frizz has been especially bad, it looks like I have a halo of fuzz around my roots. Not pretty. I used this conditioner yesterday morning, amidst a torrential downpour in Brooklyn, and walked around outside for about 2 hours. To my surprise, I came home without a fluff or frizz in sight.
I generally, to be honest, haven't got a lot of faith in anti-frizz products because most of them have let me down. But this one held up. It smells nice, comes in a cool looking bottle, and there's A LOT unlike some brands that come in teeny bottles and have large prices.

CitySlicker Says:
You don’t know how many times I have walked by these in my Salon. I don't know why I have never stopped and picked them up. I am sorry I didn’t, I have been using these just shy of a week and so far so good. I haven’t noticed any build up in my hair or them weighing it down. The scents are light and pretty, nothing overwhelming. The shampoo rinses with ease and the conditioner is nice and thick, I leave that one on about 5-10 minutes while showering. I think the biggest difference I have noticed since using these is my flyways. I have a short bob with bangs and always notice frizzies in my part. They have calmed down tremendously and that is a GREAT thing... I am very pleased with the performance so far and feel like my hair is stronger too. One other thing, I do color my hair and these don’t strip or feel harsh in any way so call your peeps that don’t rock your own color no worries on that front!

Deedlejuse says:
My review is a little bit less solid on this Shampoo/Conditioner combo, but only because I need to plug their Silk Therapy after product (which I will review later). There is no doubt about the anti-frizz aspects of this duo, and how wonderful it smells, and really just how lovely my hair looks after I use it and it dries. But... I don't like the feeling of my hair while wet after I use this combo. It just feels kind of dried out, of course that is only when I use it without the Silk Therapy, and completely goes away after it is dried. My hair is died blond, and so soaks up moisture like a sponge, so I think I just need the extra moisture of the Silk Therapy. This is a good solid product though, and I would definitely say you will be very happy with the results.

Sheba says: I bought myself a huge bottle of the conditioner on clearance at a local Home Goods and am in love with it. First, I was attracted to the clearance price but the product has swayed me completely. It is as good as everyone has mentioned. My hair is thin and has no body -- yet, it usually has frizzies in the rain and/or humidity. This conditioner really left the hair feeling soft and silky -- yet with a feel of more body/texture. My hair was easy to work with and style after this conditioner and it actually remained frizzless out in the rain!!! I think I am going to have to spend a little more in the future as I will not be lucky enough to find this treasure on clearance that often. I will still look for it on clearance, however, I am prepared to dig a little deeper as it is worth it.

Review- Cutler Extra Gentle Shampoo & Intensive Conditioner

Shampoo- Formulated to gently clean dehydrated or chemically treated hair. $16 Conditioner- Moisturizes dry, damaged or color-treated hair. Smooths and seals. $17

I love this shampoo and conditioner! In addition to the clean scent, the shampoo is extra gentle and cleans without leaving your hair stripped. It is low foam but your hair feels superbly clean once you rinse. My hair is dry and color-treated and this combination makes my hair look very healthy and shiny. The conditioner is thick and rich, yet rinses completely leaving my hair soft and smooth. Once I put the conditioner in I use a large tooth comb to work it through. The comb slides through effortlessly with this conditioner. I have no doubt I will be buying this shampoo & conditioner again and again. And considering the small amount you need to use, these products are well worth the money.

Sheba says: I have the shampoo and it reminds me of a baby shampoo because it is so gentle and fresh. It leaves my hair 'squeaky clean' as my mother used to say. It lathers up a little but it does remove all the stuff I put into my hair very nicely and leaves it very clean and fresh. I do not detect any scent to the shampoo other than a very fresh one. For the price you cannot do better for a daily shampoo. I usually shampoo every other day as my hair needs a day between washings. This works wonderfully at removing all day old hair products and dirt and smog from the atmosphere. Hillary mentioned that you just need a tiny dab to get your hair as clean and refreshed as it can be.

Review - Marc Anthony True Professional Instantly Thick, Hair Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner

Lifts, Volumizes, Thickens and Protects Color - repairs dry, frizzy areas and transforms thin, flat hair into full, shiny, voluminous hair.

I have a lot of hair, in all actuality it is almost laughable that I would buy thickening shampoo and conditioner, but I found a really good price at a local discount shop so I figured I'd try it. This is without a doubt my new go-to brand, and I will definitely be using thickening shampoo and conditioner in the future. Yeah, it is that good! The smell is very pleasant sort of citrusy, but really not overwhelming. All you need is a drop, so the massive container I found will be lasting me through the next few months easily. A noticeable difference in the volume of my hair took a few days, but once it happened I was shocked by the change. Today, I'd say a week in, I have beautifully shiny thick locks that are so much easier to style and look healthier than ever before. I'm absolutely sold, and though in the future it will probably be more expensive than my normal brand I will definitely be shelling out the extra. Whomever Marc Anthony is my hair adores him, this combo is highly recommended!

Sheba says:
I love the Marc Anthony products I have tried so far - so I had to try these after reading Deedlejuse's review. She hit it on the mark. These do the job. I love the fragrance as I love anything citrus and it is a very soft scent. It does take a few days for anything really different to show up but then it is there -- a little more volume. Keep using it and you will notice a bit more until it reaches the maximum for you. But that is all I ask -- give me as much volume and body as you can. These 2 products combined work very well. My hair has a bit more volume to it and it is soft and manageable while it also seems to have a little more shine to it. I have moved these right up there with my favorites. The price can be very reasonable if you shop around. I found it with a buy one, get one free sale and regret that I did not stock up at the time. However, there will be more sales. You will not go through this very fast -- you just need a little to do the excellent job that it does -- so it will last you for a while.

Review - Rusk Sensories Shampoo & Conditioner Calm Guarana and Nourishing Ginger

Rusk sensories calm guarana & ginger nourishing shampoo awakens the senses and nourishes troubled, stressed hair. Formulated with guarana extract to add a healthy, natural sheen and ginger extract to maintain the natural moisture balance.

Recently I was give a little sample bottle of this Rusk Sensories Calming Shampoo and Conditioner. It was actually the amenity shampoo and conditioner that they gave us at a hotel, if you can believe that. Let me tell you that was the first time, ever, that I was more than satisfied with the amenity shampoo at any hotel I have been to! It is literally wonderful, the scent is calming and relaxing, very aptly named. The little tiny 1.5 oz size lasted me through four washes, which for me is really amazing. I have long chemically treated blond hair, and it sucks up moisture like a towel. This shampoo and conditioner pair worked so well that I only had to use a teeny drop! Rusk is a brand I have always seen around, but just never took the time to try. Now I wish I had, I will definitely be getting this again in the future!

Review- Chi Organics Olive Nutrient Shampoo & Conditioner

Olive Nutrient sulfate and paraben free shampoo and conditioner with Certified Organic Essential oils, Natural oils and a special complex of extracts will pamper your hair and provide extra gentle, rich, moisturizing care while nourishing, moisturizing, protecting and providing balanced care for your hair while preserving and maintaining color.

I have to admit that I was a little skeptical when I went to use this shampoo and conditioner. Their consistencies are a bit on the watery side. So I was pleasantly surprised when the shampoo lathered up nicely and thoroughly cleaned my hair without stripping it. Then the conditioner left my hair soft enough to run a comb through wet without a snag. The end result of my blow dried hair looked healthy and shiny. I've been using the shampoo and conditioner for weeks and they haven't affected my color one bit. I will definitely be buying this shampoo and conditioner again.

Deedlejuse says:

Until yesterday, I had ridiculously long (they cut off a foot and I still have "long" hair) chemically processed very dry hair. Needless to say it was pretty dead at the ends, so when I say that I had dry hair, I'm not kidding. So when I got this shampoo and conditioner combo I was excited to try it, but terrified at the same time. I thought that if it wasn't loaded up with hard to pronounce chemicals I would be left with a tangly, dry, un-brushable, mess of hair that would desperately need a straight shot of that silicone stuff they use to make a lot of products flow better. I was mistaken, thankfully and hopefully forever. I used this shampoo conditioner combo for about two weeks, every other day, and by the end of this period my hair looked so shiny and healthy, I was amazed. The shampoo is a little watery looking, if your grandmother ever made you use castile soap as a kid because "it is the best soap ever" you will feel right at home with the shampoo, but it does lather up well and it is just so gentle. The conditioner I have no complaints on at all. Even for someone like me with high demands on conditioner I thought it was thick and creamy looking, and had a little more backbone than other ones I have used. The smell is not classic olive oil, but it is a fresh citrusy smell that I liked, very natural and neutral. Basically I am very into the idea of going more natural with my products, and more green to save the world. Chi Organics just proved to me that I can still have beautiful hair while doing that.

Review- Frizz-Ease Curl Around Style-Starting Daily Conditioner

Developed for wavy, curly, frizz-prone hair *Reawakens, energizes and defines your natural curl patterns for soft, smooth curls with lasting curl definition *Specially developed with a curl-enhancing complex, hydrating conditioners and frizz-fighting silicone *Resists frizz in any weather *Curls look silky-smooth and glossy from root to tip *Gentle enough for everyday use *Safe for color-treated hair

Please see my review of the shampoo that goes with this conditioner. I never tried one without the other; and they work so well together, why mess with a good thing. My hair is wavy, but curls when the humidity rises. You'll see that I put this shampoo and conditioner to an extreme test (I didn't mention it in the shampoo review, but I don't have A/C--so I really tested them in an "extreme" situation). Another thing I'm doing now that I want to share with you (if you don't already do this) is 1) Make sure you thoroughly rinse out any shampoo so the conditioner can work properly 2) I rinse conditioner out with cool-cold water (comfortable) and count to sixty to make sure I get it all out. This helps to close the hair cuticle, as well.

Review- Chi Organics Olive Nutrient Therapy Treatment Paste

Olive Nutrient paraben free Treatment Paste with Certified Organic Essential oils, Natural oils and a special complex of extracts will treat and replenish dry, damaged, overworked and color treated hair with proper elements needed to moisturize and reconstruct. Hair will feel soft with illuminating shine.

I’m completely in love with this product. My hair is color-treated. Because it grows so fast, I have to use color around every three weeks. The texture has been dry and even brittle, as you might imagine. From the first time I used this product, my hair not only felt like unprocessed hair, but looked great (full and shiny) rather than flat as you might think a product with olive oil might make it (thin, fine hair). I’ve even used it three days in a row and it still didn’t go flat. Word-of-mouth is important, and I started talking this one up with my friends immediately.

Amanda S. Says: Everything that Joyce said, and more. I am so addicted to this fantastic stuff. I just got this crazy new haircut with super super short bangs and it has about a thousand layers in the back, and this conditioner tamed it in this humid horrible weather and it's so sleek and shiny, I ADORE THIS STUFF! I have used it all week and I'm loving it so much I'm going to have to run out and get more, it's one of the best conditioners I've used and I love the texture of it and the natural ingredients.

Review - Finesse BeautiFull Volume Shampoo and Conditioner

True beauty is more than skin deep. But tell that to your hair. The surface ~ the cuticle more precisely is where your hair's beauty is more evident. Enter the Finesse exclusive silk and soy protein formulas that smooth and improve the cuticle, strengthening every strand to leave hair more soft and naturally shiny. For hair that's irresistibly alluring to the eye and beautiful to the touch.

So I don't know about the rest of you, but recently I have been scouting out the most affordable toiletries that actually Work. When you are bargain shopping it is sort of tantalizing to see all of those shampoos and conditioners that are advertised as $1, or $.99 or even to go to the dollar store and find the biggest bottle possible so that you won't have to think about it for a while. Unfortunately, most of those discount shampoos and conditioners leave you wondering why your hair looks like a dull, super-frizzy, tangled mess.

The other day I found this Finesse Soy and Silk Protein volumizing shampoo and conditioner. I have to say I was skeptical at first, my hair needs lots of moisture and new brands tend to be sort of scary for me, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that this brand is cheap AND does an amazing job on my very long very dry hair. The smell is a 5. Sort of like Ivory soap, not amazing but certainly not terrible. The shampoo lathers really well, just a small amount works in to even the longest thickest hair. The conditioner, for me is the true test. This one passed with flying colors. I left it on for a good three minutes, just to be sure, but at the end of it my hair felt very soft and hydrated. The best surprise was after it dried ( I usually allow my hair to air dry at night) it was soo soft and full of volume and super shiny. I would say that this duo is comparable to much more expensive brands.

Sheba says:

I use this volume shampoo and conditioner off and on. They are some of the best on the market for the price. I also usually let my hair dry on its own if I have the time and these products leave them feeling very clean, healthy, smooth, and with more body than when I started. How can I go wrong? I have had results that are not even close to these with much more expensive products. The main thing is that these work very well and the cost is so very reasonable for such results.
