Review - L'occitane Shea Butter Extra Gentle Soap

Generously sized for everyday use and the bath. Formulated with a 100% vegetable base and enriched with nourishing Shea Butter. L'Occitane works directly with women's Shea-processing collectives in western Africa, supporting economic recovery--and a heritage of natural harvesting traditions. Non-irritating; suitable for men, women and children. In a range of L'Occitane fragrances.

When using a good bar soap, especially one in the $10 per bar range, I find it difficult to notice a big between brands. But this soap really blew others I have tried out of the water
. L'Occitane definitely has a well respected product line for a reason. The soap I tried was the Lemon Verbena, they say on their site it is a best seller, and I can totally see why. The lemony goodness just smells so clean and fresh and invigorating but not over the top intense, just very natural and delicate. It foams up instantly with this thick creamy wonderful lather. It feels like the foam is just pouring moisture over your skin, when you use it in the shower or bath. The best part that I have noticed, however, is how gentle it is. My boyfriend has super sensitive skin, he gets rashes from some kinds of body washes so we have to be careful. We even get him special goats milk soaps because they are supposed to be the most gentle. This soap has had no ill effects on his super sensitive skin, and even seems to sort of heal things he hadn't even noticed were off-kilter. The moisture level is really impressive, and the bar seems to last forever. This really is just a wonderful soap.
